Just had a nice little 560 mile journey, Sailfish 282

Same exact boat. I'd have had a hard time not stopping to fish!

    282 Sailfish Steering Issue

There's a relief valve in there, if you've locked it hard over and try to go harder it will step in so as not to over-pressure the system. Perhaps there's debris preventing proper functioning or it's failed in some way. I'm no expert in this area but i know that they exist and that's where I'd...

    Canvas enclosure

I sent them my old canvas enclosure as a pattern, it had shrunk severely in some areas so I did take measurements myself and sent to them, over-communicate would be my suggestion. For the most it fits like a glove with the exception of one spot on the rear curtain where I needed to make a minor...

    Canvas enclosure

I'd call Lee at A&J Canvas Inc in Vanceboro NC, not NJ. They made a new enclosure for my 282 this offseason. Others will suggest the same. Google them, number comes right up.

    SeaDek

I installed Aqua Traction on my 282, similar boat. We love it, and it's actually very easy to clean. My kids smeared chocolate on it and it hosed right off. I went with dark gray with black lines, I can upload a pic if you'd like. The only downside is that it's a bit warmer on the feet than the...

    2000 GW 282 sailfish

Manual head here, make sure you clean all those vents and check them regularly, if you can't shoot water down the pumpout without it backing up then you have a clog somewhere. My vent hose get's clogged at the end from mud wasps and at the tank elbow from 'waste' sloshing around. As far as...

    Tips/tricks to manually raise outboard?

I take the best screw driver bit for the job I have and attach to a socket driver to get a little more torque. If you have a with kit of a bunch of bit's, they can probably plug into one of my small sockets, put some tape on there to hold it in to the socket. I do the same for my lower unit...

    Oil Stain

If you have a magic eraser laying around I'd try that first. It's essentially like using a rubbing compound, so tread lightly. Once your done wax the area.

    Hard water spots

These are by no means perfect but it does help, and for the price why not, my old marina had water that stunk like eggs, these will lessen that issue if present as well...

    Headliner removal

Similar year boat. Mine are slow to come on, every time, they take 30 seconds to a min to get going and it's not as though they slowly warm up, they click on but it's delayed. The spot light outside head is quick, but all of the domes with push button switches are like this, and I have no...

Grady White 36' Express repowered with Yamaha 300 CV

I have no experience with that boat and power setup, but.... a LOT of people on here have repowered with all kinds of different combos. My guess, there's an issue somewhere with one of those motors or how they are setup, and it's likely an issue that can be corrected once identified. I'd push...

    Minn kota/Rhodan

I have not but I'm very interested to see where this goes for sailfish purposes. There's a guide here on the Chesapeake that put one on his 27 Parker, Walleye Pete.

Are twin 225's adequate on 30' Marlin

There's a Marlin with a pair of 425 XTO's strapped on the back for sale in my general area. I'd be curious to understand the reasoning behind that one, seems like a ton of weight to me. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2004-grady-white-300-marlin-7652853/

Are twin 225's adequate on 30' Marlin

If you do go Sailfish the 225's are plenty, as long as the corrosion piece is ironed out. Sea Trial in the snottiest weather you and the owner are comfortable with, that'll tell you what you need to know about that combo working for you.

    Rub rail end cap

A direct replacement likely does not exist, the taco ones are all for current boats and rails which are different than what they did back then. That being said it's probably the closest thing out there, so it's absolutely worth a look. The guy at integrity marine, they sell the OEM Barbour rub...

    Enclosures

I'd call customer service as well. Sailfish went through an update in that timeframe, the 03' and the 05' do have differences, I'd be absolutely sure before spending money.

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

A number of years ago I took the family across the Chesapeake from Annapolis to Lowes Marina Wharf, in the Seafarer. We tied up and then the skies opened, lucky for us we happened to be inside when this went down. We watched through the torrential rain as a group of 3 guys and their girlfriends...

Looking for new set of canvas enclosure for 228

Add me in as well, did A&J earlier this year, came out great. I had a few phone conversations to make sure we had it dialed in then it was off to the races. I did the strataglass with the ivory stamoid.

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

I fish a lot, I have a wife and two kids that like to accompany me. There is no better configuration for us than a WA. My cabin gets used on every, single, trip. They go down there to nap, get out of the rain, we keep all our stuff down there. The sailfish is large enough that my son and I can...

Transom cap on twin engine boats replacement cost

How much? I'd be interested in having this on hand, 282 Sailfish. I'm in Maryland.
