I would put a stainless steel plate where the big chip is because otherwise the chain will continue to chip the gel coat.

My Loadrite trailer for my 228 came with 1/2 inch chain.

I use Rip Charts premium. It has sea surface temp, altimetry, currents, chlorophyll, true color which are the main things I use. Also salinity, sub-surface temps, SST forecast and bathymetry. You can add waypoints. Does all I need it for.

I modified the pulpit to take a 232 through pulpit anchor roller.

For launching and retrieving solo I prefer the bunk trailer for my 228.

In my experience it’s quite good compared to other similar sites. What’s crappy, the search function, the advice…….?

At that age I would think that the spots are etched into the glass. I have tried buffing. Also used bronze wool. (Don’t use steel wool. You will end up with rust spots everywhere) Slight improvement but once it’s etched there’s not much you can do. There are glass polishing compounds. I haven’t...

I ceramic coated my 228. The coating is quite easy the prep takes quite a bit of time. I coated all exterior surface including the aluminium frame of the hardtop. I also did the non skid. It didn’t make the floor slippery. There is more gloss than wax. It lasts much longer. I still wash it...

Not sure if it is a downside but it is extremely hard. Last Christmas I had the boat moored at a marina. Usually have it on a trailer. The fenders left some patches that had slightly less gloss. I compounded the areas expecting it to take a couple of minutes per area took about 10-15 mins. I...

I think at 6" the safety aspect of the bow rail has been removed. I would also look at removing the bow rail completely and see how it looks.

I got my bow pulpit for my 228 from Grady White in 2022. The pulpit was AUD$2941. I think that included mounting hardware and roller etc. I modified it to take a 232 through pulpit anchor roller which was AUD$682.

That looks like chromed brass. Stainless doesn't usually pit like that.
