    Keeping up with the KYs...

That is a great story and the purpose of my trip this weekend, since my son is now 29 and has his own 2 year old son, it is hard to spend time together like the old says, so this weekend we get to spend a few days together on the boat chasing fish and having laughs. It won't be long and I will...

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

Thanks Ky Grady, I enjoyed the old pictures. I am glad I purchased my 232 new in 2004 and will most likely not have to purchase another one.....lets hope they keep the 232 and Marlin in the lineup.

    Couple of motor bracket questions

My 2004 Bracket leaks as well, so I recently replaced the plug on the bottom shown in previous notes above with a more robust one and have recently resealed the top access port. Hopefully this solves the problem.

New (to me) Grady - 2004 Marlin

If I could easily trailer the Marlin I would have one but I will stick with my Gulfstream which I can trailer easily to Lake Michigan from my home port of Gibraltar, Mi.

First Outing in new to me 2003 Seafarer 228 - Heavy feeling stern

My bracket of the same vintage on my 232 leaks, which I plan to remedy this month, so good idea to check to see if full of water.

It finally happened. My new to me 270.

Any Grady owners fishing the Great Lakes

I purchased my 232 new and have a 225 four stroke with a 8 high thrust yamaha kicker for trolling, it pushes the boat for speeds slow for eye and fast enough for salmon on lake michigan. As others have said, do your homework and if a salty just make sure you check it out, I am sure it will be...

I noticed you have the same boat as mine, a 2004 gulfstream with an original motor of 225. Mine was on a Gil bracket. Did you ever have any issues with the access cover leaking on your gil bracket and if so what did you do to remedy the issue?

Any Grady owners fishing the Great Lakes

Denko send me a private message and we can compare note on Erie and Lake Michigan....I am getting ready to plan my spring trip for Coho and Kings to Lake Michigan. I have a 225 four stroke with an 8 HP High Thrust kicker that I use for all my trolling. I can troll as slow as I need for EYES...

Any Grady owners fishing the Great Lakes

I chase Walleye and perch on Lake Erie out of Grosse Ile, MI and then move over to Lake Michigan a few times in the summer for salmon in my Gulfstream.

    Gulfstream

My 2004 came with a Yamaha 225 four stroke and runs great, not a speed demon but is enough HP with a full crew with gear.

2004 Gulfstream with Gil Bracket leaking

No, and when I replaced them I inserted life caulk before inserting the screws. I may have to find more robust anchors that the screws go into.

Mounting Fish Finder in Electronics Box - Gulfstream

I have the 2004 Gulfstream and my Raymarine ES9 is in my upper box, works great in that area.

2004 Gulfstream with Gil Bracket leaking

That is a good idea to fill it with water, I can easily do that in the spring when I get access to it. That will be my first thing I do to solve the riddle. Thanks for the suggestions.

2004 Gulfstream with Gil Bracket leaking

I have a 2004 Gulfstream with a single engine attached to the Gill Bracket. The Gill bracket has a hatch on top and a drain valve on the bottom. Water gets in but does not drain, therefore the leak must come from the circle hatch. What would be the best sealant to use around the round metal...
