Advice? Going to check out this Tournament 192

40mph? Wow.. I've never hit 40 with my 150 4 stroke on my '89 Tournament. I think I pushed and hit 37 on the lake that was like glass one morning.

Advice? Going to check out this Tournament 192

Agreed. I have the same boat but a 1989, I have a 150 4 stroke on it. I use the boat mostly on a lake and it's more than enough HP. I also go down to the shore and used inland, a little on the outside on a real good day but along the beach and it serves me well. BUT I have a feeling that...

    Yamaha F150

Go with exactly what Dennis has mentioned. Yamaha doesn't go by year and model, they go by manufacture year and that is on the serial number. There is no such thing as a "2007 Yamaha" motor. Any parts or servicing you need for that motor, you will need to have that serial number handy. Don't...

My New Grady White Overnighter 204c

nice! Yeah that's around by Freehold and Manalapan, Howell, etc -if I am not mistaken. I'll let you know if I am around the area.

My New Grady White Overnighter 204c

Yeah, definitely something I need to pick up. My neighbor has one too but I was thinking that I need two lifts - that's pretty clever though, Mike, the engine stand that you made. When the time comes, I am probably going to have a few questions, like already I am wondering if I will also need to...

My New Grady White Overnighter 204c

So, I bit the bullet and became a happy owner of my 2nd Grady-White, '90 Overnighter 204c. So now for the time being I also still have the '89 Tournament 19. However, the Overnighter is powered with a 97 Yamaha 150 Saltwater Series motor. Runs pretty well but I have the Yam 150 4 stroke that's...

    Hull / Gelcoat Damage?

Thanks, Dennis! It's a large area so if anything, this will keep me busy for quite some-time. When you say epoxy, are you referring to the west marine 105 epoxy?

    Alarm on Yamaha F150

Yeah, the vent is built into the fill fitting up at the bow. The bow never got under the water line BUT the bilge outlet was below the waterline!

    Alarm on Yamaha F150

ahh, okay - I think that's what I did.. first I ran the engine with the external tank of which I had dropped a little bit of the Yamaha gas detergent into. Ran it for.. about maybe 5 minutes? Then, I took 2gallons, again, external tank, mixed a quart of fogging oil with it and ran the engine...

    Hull / Gelcoat Damage?

I can chip the gelcoat off, exposing the fiber glass. Here's my question.. IF I do nothing how much trouble can I get into later on with the fiberglass? Is the glass in trouble of getting damaged and putting a hole in the hull? I keep the boat in the water during the summer months, well, April...

    Alarm on Yamaha F150

How did the water get in the boat? Had a NOR'easter, float switch on bilge failed (something else I have to replace in the spring) water filled up in the boat. How that much water got into the gas tank is the mystery. Water IN the boat, not so much a mystery.

    Alarm on Yamaha F150

Dennis, yeah, I did plan on pulling the 2x4's.. didn't get that chance today like I planned. Hopefully tomorrow. Thanks on the advice of the stronger possibility of an issue underneath the wood. As for fogging, yes, I do have a DFI - a 150 4 stroke Yam. I am also aware that the plugs can get...

    Hull / Gelcoat Damage?

Not sure what the real damage is here - I noticed this underneath on the hull - gel coat is cracking and chipped off. How much of a problem is this? At this point, is it worth it to re-glass the entire bottom of the hull on an '89 tournament? Also taking into consideration, I might need some...

    Alarm on Yamaha F150

Update: Very happy that the engine is working well - I was able to find muffs that work correctly for my size engine and so I ran some fogging oil through the engine, so now the engine is all set for the winter. I pulled the floor panel and the top of the tank seems to look good. I can't see...

    Alarm on Yamaha F150

Okay, great - I wasn't expecting the hard/rough start and running but if the idea that the motor is running is a good sign, then that eases my mind. As far as the water separator housing, okay - I was just curious, it crossed my mind - I pulled the floor panel this evening but I still need to...

    Alarm on Yamaha F150

So, never called Somers Point - I hooked up a 2gallon external can to the motor.. (actually, I hooked up through the water separator housing first) So, primed the motor with the new gas - water did come out through the VST - but once I saw gas.. I closed off the VST - turned the key and the...
