Based on my past experience you have a faulty EMM (engine management module). There's plenty of info out there to read up on. Search it up and compare it to what you've got going on. PM me if need be.

Go get yourself some Fluid Film from Lowe's Home Improvement, should be $9 or so a can. Use it on this and read up on it.....it's the same exact thing as woody wax for 1/4 the cost. My wheel did the same thing and I had to clearance the steering shaft as it was fouling against the plastic...

I had the fuel level sending unit on my 222 replaced and it leaked. It's more than likely something very simple but, at the end of the day is a fuel leak and needs your immediate attention. Good luck and let us know what it was - always helps to learn/catalog away the info.
