    Got a 2003-2005 270 Islander?

all my canvas has shrunk, or the boat has swelled, lol.... not happy with it. (in its current state or its functionality) I would actually like a one piece plastic windshield that was wider ,curved around the corner a bit so im not staring at a 2" wide seam in the middle or at the corners id...

    Advise sought on outboard upgrade

5 more 30 day trips? thats a tough spot. re rigging is going to run you 10k in labour and parts. for a low cost fix id look for another HPDI. spending a bunch on an undesirable year (2006) 250 engine wouldn't be my solution. even if the exhaust kits were done, the block is still...

    Mounting Batteries in Bow

you will need battery boxes to secure the batteries, and you should use agm batteries so they won't offgas. I contemplated doing this in my old boat but never did get around to it. I would use the stud terminals for my wiring. if you need small current stuff consider adding a small buss bar (I...

    Repower Options: Seafarer 228G

Ive often thought about removing scuppers and plumbing deck drains into a shower sump box with a macerator pump. ive seen more then a few sunken boats where the low in the water scuppers caused it to back flow and sink.

Is there a way to adjust the windlass speed?

yes that was sarcastic humour, what model windlass is it? ive never seen one that I would call fast. makes me think that there's another problem here, and not the windlass

Is there a way to adjust the windlass speed?

35lb Delta plow anchor on a 2009 33 Grady express

I had a 22lb delta on my 20' boat. 35 seems like a more appropriate size. better holding power for a better nights sleep is always a good thing IMO

    Battery Charger

I went with the prosport20hd too. does a fine job keeping all of my group 31 (start, house house house, start) batteries happy. I think they're all good, pick the one that suits your boat best and is on sale lol

    With all due respect

either you are using shite batteries or some thing is wrong... either you or your setup. parasitic load? wrong battery type? heavy discharging? lack of maintenance/ watering? charging profile/voltage is wrong. I dont know you but id guess some reading would help. trojan batteries has so...

    2008 275 Tournament Stero

I went with a jbl round gauge hole unit. it powers 4 speakers at the helm, and RCA cords for two fusion amps for the sub / 4 speakers on the back deck. blue tooth is great, easy to use, but it lacks the signal strength and quality that a plugged in phone has. totally fine most of the time...

    Adding a Third Battery

all three house batteries are in parallel with each other I have a three buss bars. a switched (downriggers add-ons etc), unswitched (solar, high water bilge pump/alarm) and the heavy wires one (stereo/amps, windlass, etc) and a picture of the 2250W subwoofer that only knows one volume :)

    Adding a Third Battery

I have two starting and three deep-cycle group 31 batteries in my 270 islander. I do some overnighting and need the fridge to run for a few days some times. its augmented by 100W of solar and I use solid-state argofet charge isolators (fancy diode like devices that dont have the associated...
