spoken like a true four stroker! that's premixed fuel/oil for the 2 stroke motors. x2 on the fill cap o rings. I had to syphon out 3 or 4 gallons of water from my tanks.
I've found I get the best finish using a jig saw with a Bosch Progressor wood blade like (below). it has zero tooth set so makes a smooth cut.... and you can take it to the belt sander to radius /sand the corners.
but for straight cuts use the table saw. I have no experience tracing patterns...
I've found mine is sensitive to people walking around while under way. I've had to tell a few people to sit down and stay (bad dog), so I don't have to keep chasing their weight with trim tabs. just the nature of the beast with a narrow beam and 18degree dead rise
too much tabs or motors trimmed in all the way will cause the boat to want to sit on one side or the other. tabs up, trim up generously, then minimal tab to trim side to side if needed.
get on you tube and search for "SV Panope anchor test". he does a LOT of real world anchor testing and review. look up whatever anchor your considering
in my mind a 22lb is way inadequate for a 282. but I also spend a lot of nights at anchor and sometimes in 25-30mph winds plus gusts.
im looking at taking off a 22lb delta plow and putting a 12kg(27lbs) Vulcan on my 270 for that reason. but if your just anchoring for the day then a 16.5 or 22 lb...
big difference in running costs between a 232 and a 282. id do some homework and MPG on that. both great boats. ..I think my 270 is 45 ft long with engines trimmed up from coupler to skeg
the thread pitch and diameter are identical, but NPS lacks the 1.8 degree taper, so a big tap will make that change easily. Yes it does remove a tiny bit of material but doubling the thread engagement would make the connection stronger, plus now you have threads that self seal instead of...
unfortunately they are not an NPT thread despite being advertised as such..... what they do is grind a 1.8 degree taper -same as NPT taper into the NPS threads. (the tips of the threads are ground down). while this improves the fit slightly, and does give you one extra thread of engagement its...
mines in the driveway for the BC winter too. once I get a few dry days the cover will go on, do a couple of oil changes, gear oil, then onto the list for maintenance related things. I had a great season, logging over 860miles travelled
I had a poorly installed toilet thru hull (from the factory). the inside of the hull wasn't flat where they drilled the hole, so when the nut was tightened it cocked the thru hull. I had to re bed the inside with some epoxy putty to made surfaces parallel., then I installed a new groco bronze...
Im also needing some cushions for my 2004 270 islander. I would have thought someone would have patterns and would be selling them ready to go but I can't find anything
