Had new enclosure installed and went with a Costa Track instead of the snaps on the windshield. I like the clean look. The cord that fits into the track has a zipper with a Velcro flap on exterior. Makes for easy removal. Attached some photos from install/launch this past Saturday.

That’s a good sign (no bulging). Did you put a meter on it ? You gonna glass it or just replace the aluminum?

All done... 5 coats of Interprotect 2000e epoxy barrier and 3 coats of Interlux Micron 66. Followed instructions to the Tee ... my son Joe put an amazing “shineola” on the hull sides. Launch scheduled for the 12th (next week).

Agreed .... 1,000 hrs and well beyond. Friend of mine has a pair of the 250’s on a 31 Cape Horn with over 3500hrs and running strong

I don’t like running over 4500 rpm’s. I have a pair of 250 Yamaha’s 2007 vintage. A previous boat I had the same and seldom ran over 4200 because the speed was adequate at around 28-30 kts between 4000 and 4200 R’s. I put over 2,000 trouble free hours on those and according to the new owner...

Nice job !! so you eliminated the trim tab pockets and went with ZipWakes. Were the pockets a PIA to to reconstruct and the Zips a good alternative or just personal preference ?

which caulk or sealant to use around that aluminum bang plate and the two plastic corner pieces on the transom ? Any success with a particular product ? many thanks

... managed to get the Hull dry today and applied a starter coat of interprotect 2000e and watertite filler epoxy.

Hey Trapper I contracted “Gale Force” a guy out of NJ who covers Md. Pa. De and NJ. He does soda blasting and did a great job. $60 per foot 1800 bucks total and worth every penny of it. Took off all the old paint and hazed the gel. I can’t imagine trying to sand it or use chemicals.

Currently in the process of doing our Marlin. It had an “Earl Shives” bottom paint job. ( quick scuff and ablative). Which I had blasted off. Fortunately it hadn’t been there too long as the previous owner had it done recently so the bottom was in great shape. We’re going to barrier coat with...

My Guy is having a panel done for another boat where they took 1/4” aluminum and did the cut outs . He sent it out after fitting to have it dipped to exhibit a carbon fiber look. Going to let them guinea pig it to see the outcome first then maybe go that way.

Does Grady still make that panel or is the newer (later) models differ ?

you should be able to make 8 knots on one without pushing the rpms too hard... sit back and "weewax" take your time and enjoy the ride !
