Bought This One on Staten Island Seafarer 228

Wow, what a learning curve. I’ve been on the water my entire life. Each boat have been world’s apart. I’m enjoying the learning process once again. This one’s on a trailer not a lift. Yesterday, I ran directly onto trailer from the water. A little tricky with the pulpit but, doable. looks like...

Bought This One on Staten Island Seafarer 228

COVID almost put the cabbash on my boat several times. I lucked out with the trailer. There were none, a two month waiting list . I checked from NYC to Fla... nothing. On this site a member mentioned Tropic Trailer’s. He had one. Just in time. They lifted the lockdown just before I left. Pretty...

Bought This One on Staten Island Seafarer 228

Why thank you mmiela. I’m really having a good time getting to know the In and outs from the electronics (Simrad) to how she runs. Looks we’re going to be on some Kings next weekend. The Spanny Macs and the little tuni’s are also running. Don’t have to go out to deep blue water either. Two to...

What can a gulf stream take

I like the idea of crossing the bars with a epirb and the life raft. Especially the epirb. My vhf is linked to my gps through my Simrad system. I’ll have to see how that system links up on the man overboard indicator. Question being how does it get that signal out?

What can a gulf stream take

Go it. I ran out to the blue water with nne’s 10-20 knots for the blue water’s running west . When got to my waypoints, I found myself spending more time dealing with conditions than fishing. I have a hardtop and bobbed around some. I tacked it back in. Didn’t want the waves square on. Took a...

    Nautical Miles/ 228 Seafarer

Magical Bill, We had a great time. Took our friend’s daughter and son in law up the inter coastal to the Gulf and anchored up at Casey Key for a swim. The kids were out of San Francisco. A lot of colder, foggy misty weather. They took a lot of videos and pictures. It was a tropical paradise...

    Nautical Miles/ 228 Seafarer

Thanks Magic Bill, Looks like, maybe next weekend will be better? I’m locked and loaded throughout each week. I’m also keeping an eye on Africa. I like this weather info. It’s very useful. I work a full time job. Weekends are my time on water. Today we’re going to run some inter coastal waters...

    Nautical Miles/ 228 Seafarer

Good to hear from you again. Yes, I have obtained my GW from Staten Island NY. The first of many adventures that i’ll have. Although, this one begins on land. I had my eye on the CATCH 22 since July. At that time it was a dream to come true. Through some very fortunate circumstances I had the...

    Nautical Miles/ 228 Seafarer

This guy has a great sense of humor. I had no troubles with the accent. On my map app, I have a female Aussie accent. This video is excellant! It allowed me to complete my understanding of Command Control. Which really is easy and excellent feature to have. I now can fill my tank and set my...

    Nautical Miles/ 228 Seafarer

I got it home. I like your info on the reset. I brought her home with a full tank. I’m interested in how you recalibrate the Yamaha Command Center at the gas station. I thought you have to start engine to set the calibration? How do I do that on land?
