It sounds like your high speed jets on the carbs may be clogged up. Easy fix. Beyond that there is the TPS, Knock Sensor, or the diaphragm fuel pumps (could have pinholes). Fuel pump would be my second guess after carbs.

You cant turn back time. I had my re-upholstered at a local shop and it was pretty cheap. I think 3-400 bucks.

I suspect you will be fine....going from V-6 to V-6. how does the boat sit in the water when you stand on the transom now? I would try that question on THT as well, you 'll likely get some users who are running identical set-ups to chime in.

Pick up pair of late model used 4 strokes, 25-30K. I recently saw a pair in Maine for 18K. Your pair of OX 66 is probably worth 7-9. Your marlin will have much better resale value with the 4S if you should change your mind down the road. It sound like you're pretty happy with the Marlin.

Transoms go when penetrations are not sealed correctly an/or when the boat isn't stored properly (winter). Last year I sold an 85 Mako with the transom as solid as the day it was made.

I would suspect 2500 t0 5000.00 depending on who does it and what sort of fit & finish you want. sometimes there are some good cash deals to be had in the off season.
