im surprized they wouldn't stand behind there product on this one, clearly no caulking allowed water to wick up into wood

This is what I did on my 228 , Garmin7610xsv in upper box and a 7608xsv in the helm box , used starboard to mount internally so I could still use locking hatches

no your right will get the right product for the job, chamfer the edges and have a professional job, no leaks would be a good thing also !!!!

yes airmar recommends 5200 but im a bit sceptical due to the fact if I ever have to remove, was leaning towards 4200, I will have a look at boatlife products. Just use a good epoxy resin for fiberglass , what about the 2 part epoxy that comes in the syringe like tube you push out and mix, then...

Installing a through hull in my 2006 228 in the bilge area, have to drill a 3 3/4 in hole , my question is im assuming that area is solid fiberglass and use 5200 or 4200 for bedding compound. 5200 is better for under water applications but im worried if I ever have to remove .

this is what I did Square tubing . try to get the kicker as close to center as possible for best control

Have been having trouble with the plastic locks , have tried lubrication, when I put key in and turn it removes the core, what are people using for replacements

fuel source with be kerosene , will burn a little cooler but cleaner

I also use the little buddy , they work great, but the boat windows in the morning are wet and foggy with the espar you can vent the air at the windows to dry out plus keep warm. have been looking for location ideas for my 228

no one uses an Espar or similar heater in there boat
