Help looking for switch & breaker?

Ironically, my live well switch stuck in the "On" position this weekend and my pump eventually seized (it had been making noise for awhile). The good thing is that the breaker finally tripped so I could leave the battery on without running the motor. Looks like I'll be doing the same thing you...

Help looking for switch & breaker?

I found some photos of a boat similar to yours and it appears that your switches are different than mine. At least the actuator is different.

Help looking for switch & breaker?

The breakers may have different amps. I had one go bad and had to replace it. It seems like most of them were 15 amp, but it will say right on the back of it. They are cheap enough that it may not be a bad idea to buy a few of different amps just so you have options when you get there. Here...

Busted for riding on the bow

With all due respect, you are wrong on two counts. First and foremost, in general the Coast Guard regulations do not apply in state water unless adopted by the state. A perfect example is life jacket requirements. In Florida water, you are not required to wear one if you are over 6 years old...

Busted for riding on the bow

OP said they were in a 228. That is a walk around. There are seats/cushions on the bow and the bow rail is higher than the seats. In Florida the officer would have to make the determination that sitting up there is likely to result in harm to the passengers. There is no anti "bow riding"...

    Portable jump starter?

I have the same unit Fowl Hooked has (Micro Start XP-1). I've used it dozens of times on boats, cars, trucks, etc. Very small, very light, very strong. No reason not to have it on board.

    Stereo, speakers in a 228

I have two up top like Parthery did, and two in the inspection ports in the fish boxes.

    What wax do you like?

If the gel coat is in good shape and you are just looking for shine and protection, I would suggest using a synthetic sealant such as Ultima Paint Guard Protection or Opti-Seal. Both products you just wipe on and walk away. Truly no rubbing or buffing. Both last a very long time (longer than a...

    Grady 228/226 Speaker Location Ideas??

GulfSea, naturally they get wet, but they are waterproof so "no harm no foul." I haven't had any issues with them being located there. I bought an extra set of inspection port covers, cut the proper sized holes for the speakers, then just popped them in. I kept the oem covers in storage in case...

    Grady 228/226 Speaker Location Ideas??

Here's where mine are located. My top ones are now Poly Planers (smaller than the ones in the picture) and the other two are inset into the inspection ports down low.

    Cabin Cushion 226

The bottom of that cushion is wood and is plenty strong to support you without any sort of leg. Like Parthery said, is just rests on the rim of the opening.

    DeHumidifier

Like noXuse I use the DampRid hanger. Works great, smells great. And cheap at Lowes or Home Depot. Each one last several weeks even in Tampa where it tends to be hot and humid. :)

How do i access my rear bilge pump on 1992 seafarer?

I've had to replace my livewell pump a couple times and both of my seacock handles (rusted away). But I don't find the access that hard. Maybe I have long arms or something. I actually think its pretty easy to get in there, but I'm sure I look silly headfirst in the hole with my ass sticking...

How do i access my rear bilge pump on 1992 seafarer?

That's the only way I know of. Put a cushion of some sort on the edge and lean in. Or find a small child and drop them down there. :)

Bilge Pump Access - Live Well Removal 228 Seafarer

Parthery is right. There isn't much to it. I've taken mine out numerous times for various things. I always forget that it is the screws that attach the hinge to the boat, not the bolts that attach the hinge to the lid, that need to be removed to get the lid off. Other than that the only...

    livewell and fishbox

I agree with the above comments. No way the box is supposed to drain into the bilge. Something came loose somewhere. Go to the Grady White website and download the owners manual for your boat. That will show you where all the drainage thru hulls are.

226/228 hardtop- can someone measure theirs?

My top measures 85 inches from the deck to the top of the rod holders on the aft end of the hardtop and 69 inches from the side walkway by the midship cleat to a place tall enough to clear the middle of the top with all-around light included.
