    Tab pump location

Gee guys...mount it on the inside transom under the storage bin next to the battery and use matching 3' lines. Easy to service, install, and see if it is topped up with fluid. Mine is on the port side. I haven't touched mine in 3 years. They are the 12" tabs, more than enough for the boat.

    Prop Pitch and Diameter

I run a 15x15 aluminum. Works great. A 17 is too much pitch IMHO. In the smaller diameter it will pull it on a lighter boat. You're running twins? Might work better with 2 motors. The stocker that grady puts on everything for testing is the 13.75X17. I tried out a Reliance SS in 14.25X17...

Opinion: Drawstring Cover vs Snap cover - Tournament 185

That's high for that size boat. A good Sunbrella cover should run in the $800-$1000 range max. And they are nice, I love that fabric. I have one as a tonneau or helm cover that snaps onto the windshield frame and then behind the helm seats. It's an excellent over-the-road cover for trailering...

Opinion: Drawstring Cover vs Snap cover - Tournament 185

I'm on my second Taylor-Made Hotshot boat cover. The first one lasted 3 years, the new one was $187 shipped. Comes with nylon web straps to tie it down, and a shock-cord perimeter drawstring. It just survived our three storm successions here, over 6" of rain, and winds to 60mph. I had to...

Took Factory Tour last Friday - WOW! - Incredible!

SoutheastFL likes to argue, and he's super critical, just look at his history. He's probably just a super-smart cranky old fart like me. I think he understands boats and design, he doesn't like to see corners cut, and doesn't mind pointing out the shortcomings. Rather than turn all...

Took Factory Tour last Friday - WOW! - Incredible!

i got wood in my hull??? WTF??? Gosh, I had a boat back when I lived in the NW that was built in 1958, and it was ALL WOOD! Can you believe it? It didn't have a stitch of fiberglass in it!! 24,000 pounds of wood and ballast, with 2 masts, a mercedes 180D diesel, and a diesel fired...

Anyone have a Kicker for there GW 208?

I couldn't say for sure. Would be worth a call to Grady customer service, they'll give you a recommendation. I would hate to see you drill holes in your transom and mount a bracket, hang the thing on there, and then realize you hate it. I'm just not clear what your intentions were, unless...

Anyone have a Kicker for there GW 208?

A F200 will troll as nicely as can be. The kicker is for what then? And those motors are as heavy as sin, a least another 100lbs over the 150 I've got. You would end up with a lot of weight hanging off the transom back there.

Anyone have a Kicker for there GW 208?

There are quite a few of them around with kickers, especially in the NW where they troll for salmon a lot. I don't think you'll find the weight to be any big deal unless you've got a big four-stroke on there, which in that case you probably don't need a kicker. I use a 32gal kodiak livewell...

    Majic Jack

We dumped our land line about a year ago. Realized the only people that called were telemarketers and the neighborhood kid calling our son. Wifey picked up a magic jack phone to use for business prospecting, it's cheap and works great. Your computer has to be running in order for it to work...

    Trailering question

I measured mine for someone awhile back but can't find the post. I'm pretty sure my bunks are 60" apart. Hmmm...maybe it was 48? Well anyway, it was one or the other. Going to be the same as for a 208, any trailer manufacturer will be able to tell you. Try www.roadkingtrailers.com

    Battery Tenders

use the search. We covered this in depth a few months ago. At those temps self-discharge is virtually nonexistant. A trickle charger that doesn't have an automatic shut off can actually over charge a battery, and boil the water out of it. I would not do that in a boat in storage. If you...

    Tow vehicle opinions

Another for Duramax +1 And Grog has it right, you get nothing more in a dually than two extra tires and a higher GVW which you don't need for towing. They don't stop better either, and they're not better for launching. The duals are actually a hindrence as there is more surface area so less...

    boat speakers

The amp is mounted on the stock bulkhead. It's like MDF or something in the new boats. A lot of guys do replace them if they start to rot on the bottom edge. The helm area speakers are box or surface mount becuse there isn't room behind the hull liner for anything but the wires and mounting...
