Simple answer, a 250 is not enough power for that boat. I know of one 275 that was powered with a 250 and the owner changed it out after one year as it was not enough power. It may push you adequately in calm water but when it gets rough you will not be happy with the 250.

Check the ground cable GW njumpers the batteries rather then run individual grounds back the switch. The cables are easy to put on the wrong negitive post and you might find that you have no ground on the dead battery.
