When I did my tank 4 yrs ago, it was 2" black rubber that lined the contacts point of the tank. Got the same material and used it where the old stuff once was. Did this after speaking w/ Grady. I also made new shims and filed all of the screw holes that were there in the outter plywood.

I would get a fuel flow guage to better meter the amount of fuel in your tank. The original guages are a waste (as I am sure you know..).

Was there any brown staining around the hardware items you or your surveyor mentioned? If so this may indicate the wood under the hardware did in fact get wet.

Just looked at an earlier version of a 232 which has that transom wide fishbox. Have any of you guys ever transformed that box to a live well and with what success..??

Sometimes the wire from the float switch 'looks' great but it is shot inside or the switch is just NG. Get a multimeter and test the wires themselves to see if you have power going to the switch. Then go from there.
