    Grady White Purchase

The gulfstream trumps comparable robalos and conquests from a fishing standpoint. Plus a gulfstream is considerably larger than both due to the beam and more open layout. I think the robalo and whaler will have slightly better interiors but are pretty cramped on the dancefloor. A buddy of mine...

    Grady White Purchase

All gradys have flotation even back inthe 80s. The gulfstream is a significant boat totow but completely doable with a newer fullsize truck and especially with the speeds and distances you describe. Thegulfstream is one of myfavorite models I just hate the bunks in the v berth.

    Wet Fuel Tank Compartment

I have an 88 sailfish 25 that I recently acquired. I pulled the floors over the tanks and found a thick gooey slime covering every surface under there. I spent an hour shop vac-ing it out and left the floors off for weeks to let it dry. It did dry, so I put the floors back in temporarily while...

    Seafarer v. Overnighter

Seafarer is better in most areas. I used to own a overnighter 204c with a yamaha 150. I loved that boat and itis the best 20 footer out there from a fishing perspective, but a seafarer is virtually the same boat plus 2 feet in length and also it is a little wider beam and deeper with a larger...

What can a gulf stream take

A lot. But everyones interpretation varies. Imo 4 footers on that boat are nothing but some guys are not comfortable in those conditions. I have been in seas over 10ft and regularly in 6 footers with my much smaller overnighter and although you gotta go slow and will get a major beating, I never...

    Fuel Tank on Sailfish 25

Does anyone know the dimension of the main 125g tank on an 88 sailfish 255? I have to replace it and I would like to start fabbing it up but cant tell thedimensions of thebottom. Plus there is an affordable good used one available right now but icant tell if the bottom is pointed or flat or how...

    Can My '97 G/W 192 be Waterlogged??

If it was waterlogged they would have found that out when they installed the motor. Ive seen waterlogged boats, when they pulled the old motor water would have dripped out, and even if all the wood was soaked it wouldnt be heavy enough to slow the boat that much. Theres only so many gallons that...

    Sailfish 25 with twin 150s

Interesting. What "weight" do you have to strip off? Curtains and fuel are making a 10mph difference? 40 seems faster than I expected.

    Trailer sway on Sailfish 25

Its a dual axle trailer rated for 10000lbs. It was about 3in from the front v stop due to a loading error but seeing as theres virtually no weight on the tongue I think theres more to it. Its a bunk trailer btw.

    Sailfish 25 with twin 150s

Anyone out there running an pre seav2 hull with twin 150s? What kind of fuel mileage are you getting and what kind of cruising speeds or top speeds are you getting?

help deciding on which grady! (seafarer/overnighter)

As for the overnighter vs gulfstream thats a hard comparison. Vastly different. I just bought a sailfish 25 slightly bigger than the gstream. First thing that came to my mind was how much bigger it is that overnighter. The overnighter is the best boat ive ever had. Its a very handy boat. Biggest...

help deciding on which grady! (seafarer/overnighter)

I have an overnighter and my dad has a seafarer. We fish regularly 50 miles offshore for tuna, halibut etc. We use my overnighter mainly because it has a very reliable engine yamaha 150 2 stroke. It is extremely seaworthy and it has never taken water over any part of the boat in very rough seas...

If that is a carbed engine a lot of times its the floats.

    Trailer sway on Sailfish 25

Thanks guys it looks like tongue weight is probably the issue. I can actually pick the tongue up.maybe has 70lbs onit. Not even close to the 10% rule. Hopefully I can get it resolved, not safe currently. What blows my mind was it was supposedly towed up to astoria, or from san diego. I towed it...

    Trailer sway on Sailfish 25

Just bought a 1988 sailfish 25 with twin 150 hondas. When towing it home with a 2005 dodge 2500 cummins it got scary a couple times and started to sway bad. Not sure what to do. I think the trailer is loaded too heavy in the rear, does anyone know where the axles should be in relation to the...

    Replacing Fuel Pickup Tube

It appears im sucking air at the pickup tube but it is a solid tube. so how do you replace it? maybe the answer is obvious but is the only solution to remove the tank and reweld a new one in or what has anyone else done? its on a 1990 overnighter and i've never seen a boat with a solid pickup...

    what truck to buy?

pardon the rant here but i dont understand why people buy fullsize halfton gas trucks. they have low towing/hauling capabilities, are large and awkward and have crappy MPGs. almost any diesel will be better in all aspects. i have a 2005 cummins shortbed crew cab and i get 20 on the freeway...

    205 Tournament w/ 150hp Outboard - Underpowered?

150hp is fine for that boat. i have a 204 overnighter with hardtop with a 150 2 stroke yamaha and it does great. not very fast but i can get up on plane at about 17kts and get up to about 34kts top speed. maybe a 175 or 200 would be better but im not gonna go any faster than 30 anyways. these...
