Removing Lewmar Trust Joystick 330 Express

Easiest path is to remove the entire electronics pod. Disconnect the ram, then fold up AND SECURE the electronics box. Undo all the screws at the perimeter, break the cauling seal, and lift out. That will give you good access to the underside. You may also need to open up the electric...

    Fuel Tank Issue

If both engines die, it would point towards a venting type of issue, as there are two separate fuel lines running between the tank and valves. If only one engine dies, it could be a fuel line kink or other blockage in that particular combination of lines and valves. The odds of both valves...

    Fuel Tank Issue

Assuming the hoses align with the color codes on them, then yes, both are pulling from same tank. But your logic is flawed the valves are not tied to a tank. Each valve has a hose to each tank, and the middle one is the one which goes to the engine. It would be more accurate to say that the...

    Simrad linear feedback unit

100% agree. However just repowered so boating funds for non emergency items are minimal, hence the idea of the band aid.

Power to Kenwood stereo on 360 Express

Not sure how the 360 is set up, but if it is similar to the 330, (and a previous owner has not muddled with things) the stereo power comes from the main AC/DC panel in cabin. Remove this and validate that the switch is good. If switch is good, and it is wired as mine is, the problem is...

    Fuel Tank Issue

So no fuel through either valve when set to 'aux'? One thing to check is that the vent is not blocked for the aux fuel fill.

    Radar observation

Best thing one can do with radar, is run it on good days, and pay attention to everything that gets near you. That experience will really help when you end up in fog, or if you run at night. Trusting your instruments is vital - and knowing how big the rings on the screen are compared to what...

    Complaint

Seems the same as most others to me. What issues are you running into? Yes, my first instinct was to just say it was you, but then you’d have been right! GG. Had been phenomenally helpful to me. Would love to give back

    Simrad linear feedback unit

The linear feedback unit broke Looking for a replacement lf3000 This is for an older Simrad AP22. I’ve also posted on THT but wanted to cast a wider net. New they are 500 and I don’t want to dump that kind of money on a 20 year old auto pilot. Could also be interested in a simrad ap16 or...

    Receiver recommendation

For closure. Bought a second hand fusion unit from THT and installed it after milling up a backing plate from a mahogany scrap lying around the shop. Bluetooth and radio make cleaning the boat so much nicer.

Exploring battery set up and charging options

Panel is installed. Had to wrestle a bit with a couple of the cables but eventually they behaved. Ended up installing the cluster with the bolts on the 3 blocks which did not need wiring work. This provides enough rigidity to work with.

Exploring battery set up and charging options

Funny, when I initially wrote that, the thought about jinxing myself went through my mind... But yes, there is no free lunch. What I would have spent on extra wires for the BS system, I spent on hardware for this one. It is a boat, after all.

Exploring battery set up and charging options

Cut the holes for the 50 amp breaker with a Dremel, and then drilled out the holes for the other 3 breakers. The next puzzle is that with a relatively flexible panel, there are no ‘shoulders’ on the BEP switch boxes to butt against the panel, so the panel will bend when the cluster is bolted...
