Get some plastic tubing from a home improvement store and push onto the hook. I works great to keep the poles from chafing.

It is a problem in the SE as well. Mine has been repaired 3 times but now has 3 cracks, 2 of which are pretty bad.

I might at least consider moving the batteries if the scuppers are under water. That could be a hazard if the tube breaks and recall they are PVC since they are generally above the waterline. It might take a few dollars but it would improve safety.

My 2004 225s are due for impeller replacement so Iam having them scoped and checked before spring fishing season. Where isn a fingers crossed icon? :D

I believe GW uses balsa coring on the sides for strength and weight but not below the waterline. Check out the Gradybuilt section on their website which describes the construction.

Sweet! I suppose it the Marlin is dropped or not updated, the Pursuit 315 will take over the 30' outboard battlewagon slot. Would be a shame however.

Speaking of Marlin... It hasn't been updated (major) since 2004. Is this a sign it is fading out or is it overdue? The Freedom series seems to be the big sellers these days.

All hand made boats will have defects. It is the customer service which makes the difference, and there is none better than GW.
