    Grady White Fuel Tank

All good advice. Also start using marine sta-bil (blue jug) in your gas so it doesn't go bad from sitting. It also is an ethonal treatment too. I use sta-bil and Yamaha "ringfree" in all my gas. http://www.amazon.com/STA-BIL-22240-Mar ... B001CAW2DK

Relocating my 228 - Deltaville to Northern VA

Welcome to the area! I saw your post too late, I could have helped. But you did the right thing, that's a fun trip. If you see a 226 on the river, that's probably me! I put in either in Pohick Bay or Leesylvania depending on the destination. I have friends in Cobb Island with a 257 too...

    What change makes sense?

Fl marine plastics did my panel. Awesome work. I even had him do two panels, one blank in case I ever upgrade electronics. I used black king starboard. Kept the hinges, but if I redid it, I would not and go for bigger screen.

    Broken horn?

Excelent info on the all stainless horn. My original horn was from yar-ton, a taiwan company. They probably make them for many companies. I tried to order one, but they only sell 'em by the truck load. We could get some "great grady" stickers and sell them...

    228G Performance Info

My 226 with a 200 2 stroke runs about the same- 3800-3900rpm at 28mph on GPS @ 10.8gph, 5800 and 43mph WOT. No hard top.

Locating VHF antenna on Freedom 225

I always have my VHF on ch 16. You never know what you can find out. CG or police could put out a distress call, severe weather alert, heck, just hailing a marina for a slip....

New Etec on the market, impressions?

Lightweight and efficient 250 and 300HP motor would be great. BUT, it's way ugly and would look very out of place on a grady. Looks great on a bass boat.

    Broken horn?

The west marine branded one was an exact replacement for my old one. Same screw holes and everything. Old one: West marine version: http://www.westmarine.com/horns/west-ma ... --12439337

    Anchor Rope length and Type?

I found this chart, but your boat isn't listed. http://www.gradywhite.com/faq/pages/Anchors.php I think a 9" standard danforth is what fits in the mounts.

226 V700 windlass, SS bow roller install - any tips?

Nice write up! I'm leaning towards doing the same- mount the pro-fish 700 on the hatch. Since I'll use a bow roller, I won't have to raise the windlass off the hatch. I printed out the mounting template, I need to make sure it fits my hatch. I also need to do some measuring for the bow...

    how to learn to fish?

Thanks, I'll check it out. I tried my first fishing excursion Saturday evening down at St. George's island (near the Potomac River mouth and Chesapeake Bay). My buddy had all the gear- 4 rods and reels, umbrella rigs, etc. So we trolled 4 lines for 3 hours. Nothing. Back at the bar it...

Any 275 owners with an anchor windlass on here?

I'm looking to add a bow roller and I can use the factory part that came with the 275, or go aftermarket. I'd love to see a picture of the factory bow roller. Does it say who makes it? Wondering if it's worth double the cost of the stamped SS seadog or windline. If it's a nice shiny 316...

226 V700 windlass, SS bow roller install - any tips?

Correct. And I don't/won't have a pulpit, so flush mount should be better. To throw another wrench in the works, I read nothing but horrible reviews on the Lewmar winches on West Marine's website. Looking through thehulltruth.com forums, most people recommend other windlass models like...

226 V700 windlass, SS bow roller install - any tips?

Here are pictures I got from my dealer showing the parts for the "kit" grady sells with new anchor doors. I'm not 100% sure I like the raised mounting pad for the V700, especially if I want the pro-fish horizontal. Another option is to bolt down my existing hatch and seal it and mount the...

226 V700 windlass, SS bow roller install - any tips?

Stuck at work thinking about this project again. I'm now convinced the horizonatal windlass will be better (profish 700). I'm still at a loss for which anchor and roller to get. Delta or Danforth? I anchor primarily in the potomac river which is gooey mud. Danforths have worked fine in the...

Threw hull or in hull Transducer

B60 through hull for me too. There's a great you tube video of a marina installing one. They have a masking tape trick to keep the 3m 4200 from getting everywhere. Big hole saw and some huge channel locks are all the tools you need. I had a pic taken of me drilling the hole. Pretty stressful.

Under Deck Storage - Adding the access hatch

Good call. The boat is new to me as of last summer. And it's 13 years old.... And it's currently in my driveway getting it ready for the summer, so now's the time. How do you reseal it? GE outdoor almond caulk? Grady caulk? Put a bead down before setting in the hatch, or after?

First day on the water w 208, cruise speed off ?

It's the trim! Full down to get on plane. Once on plane, start bumping up the trim. You'll feel the boat accelerate and rpm might even rise when you get it right. Too much and the prop will cavitate and rev in which case you bump the trim down. The tabs are mostly to level the boat while...

Under Deck Storage - Adding the access hatch

I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Putting hinges on the forward end and a latch at the rear. Doesn't look like it'll raise all the way up, but should be enough for access. Plus it'll look better. I'm nervous to cut the caulk and open it up... You go first! and post pics. It would...
