Replacement Wiper Blade - 1990 Gulfstream

    Thru-hull in 205

I put one in my 1990 Gulfstream last summer. Although I had good access once I cut out the old platform for the oil tanks..can you get to the hull from inside of the boat?

    Washdown and Live Well

Bob, That picture is from last year. Those primer pumps were scary looking. I removed them thos spring and replaced them with safe rubber primer bulbs. Den, The former owner repowered the boat in 2004 with the F150's. These engines rock on this boat and for a big fat girl she humps along...

    Washdown and Live Well

I also cut out the shelf that the oil tanks used to sit on (I have 4 strokes) so I could get into the bilge, where I installed a tilted element transducer and a new seacock for the pump that I can actually reach and open when I want to use it.

    Washdown and Live Well

Dev, I made a mistake..there is only 1 access plate in the splash well, which is access to the original seacock and bilge pumps. I also have 1 forward of the transom gate, which is for access to the fuel filters and my washdown pump. I cut that out and put a real access hatch. Here are some pics..

    Washdown and Live Well

Den, We dont know what boat you have. Do you have an open transom or bracket? My boat has an open transom and the seacock for my washdown system was under the port pie plate. I had to pry out the plate and reach down into the bottom of the bilge to open or close the valve. It was at the limit...

    Washdown and Live Well

Den, The first thing you have to check is to find the thru hull/seacock that lets seawater get to the washdown/livellwell pump that you hear running. The seacock might be closed and you are not getting any water to the pump. I found mine deep in the rear bilge. The pressure water switch is for...

    1997 GULFSTREAM FUEL TANK CAPACITY????

In 1990, the main tank was 93 gallons. The standard auxiliary tank was 55 gallons and the option auxillary tank was 90 gallons. I see an add for a 1997 forsale listed with a 150 gallon fuel capacity.

    Gas tank replacement

Dan, If you are not trying to save the tank. go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy a 29 dollar hand held grinder with a few metal cutting blades. Flush the tank with water and leave some water in the tank...cut it apart..take your time and let the wheel cut...I cut the tank out of my dads Mako a few...

replacing fuel fill and vent lines on 88 sailfish

Jeff, I went throuhg all that last June when I was replacing the lines on my 90 Gulfstream. I cut a round hole in the gunnel to get to the fuel fills and then sealed it with a 6" pie plate. I also had to cut a hole in the deck to get the new fuel fill line through the stringers. I was able to...

'98 Sailfish Something running after shutdown

Tucker, DO NOT turn off your battery switch or 12 volt breaker with the engines running. You can damage the alternators, rectifiers and engine if you do that.

    Bottom Paint on Metal

Brutus, I always paint my trim tabs with the same paint I paint the bottom of the boat with. I did use the interlux 333 paint for the engine bracket and lower unit as I dont want to corrode away the aluminum.

    Bottom paint

Hookster, Hard paint is just that. You paint it on and it cures and creates a layer of paint on the hull and those layers build up over time and usually start to chip off when you are trying to paint on the next layer. The poison in the paint leaches out and kills off what trys to grow on it...

    Bottom paint

That sounds like a lot to pay for something that is relatively easy to do. You are down in Florida so yours would be considered "extreme fouling" as the little bastids are always there and trying to get a foot hold on something. You are going to need 1 gallon of paint to get at least 2 coats and...

    fuel tank leak in overnighter

Brodie..I dont know if you are directing your question towards me or not, but I will answer anyway...I replaced the existing tank (80 gallons - 65"x25"x11") with a 53 gallon poly tank (62"x23"x10") that we ordered from Great Lakes Skipper out in Michigan. It was $243. My dad does not travel far...
