I was told by a Very Reputable Yamaha Tech that it's the Alcohol in the Fuel,plus the Hot Exhaust creates the corrosion.Supposedly,it started with the 2002's in California as the Coast Guard started with the first ones and it was showing up.We didn't have the Corn Fuel in most States.California...

Bought a 2005 Seafarer [226] a few months ago.Had the Engine removed and had the Exhaust done. While it was off,I took the Aluminum trim off to seal it.To my surprise,the Transom cut out was all Glassed! Update on Wiper Blade for my 226...Got a 16" wiper Blade at work,Just took the insert out and installed it in my 226 Blade! Cost...Free! As long as the Blade itself is o.k.,It would have to be broken ,bent or something...You can just change the rubber insert ALOT cheaper than buying the whole...
