    Engine alarms

I don't have the command link gauges, just a VERY loud buzzer, so not much help there... It is only the port engine that is setting off the alarm... I can go in reverse for short bursts... if placed in reverse, after 2 1/2 seconds the alarm will sound and the engine will go into neutral, at...

    Marlin 4 blade prop rec...

What props do you have now??? mine are 17" pitch 3 blades... when you switch to 4 blades, you typically go with an inch or two less pitch... this will give you more low end torque and slightly less mph and still stay in the same WOT RPM range... I haven't made the switch yet, but will soon...

    Engine alarms

Thanks Rumford... Yep, plenty of oil under the cowling too... had the problem with the external oil tank pump on my maiden voyage a couple years ago... the marina installed new filters and pumps on both at that time... The oil was my first thought, but the alarms are only at idle or just...

    Engine alarms

My 250 OX66's have just started sounding the engine alarms as I back the boat from my slip, warmed up backing up slow or fast, or spinning in place (one fwd, one reverse)... both engines will cause the alarm... it stops immediately when the engines are placed back in neutral... Plenty of...

    Tuna tower

I have a full tower on my 300 Marlin... I love it and hate it... The boat was originally Crocker's demo and the full tower with a buggy top, controls and electronics were installed... Great view from above in calm waters and has a really nice look on the boat... Biggest drawback is the boat...

    Automatic Bilge Pump continously running

It is not one of the electronic automatic ones. It doesn't have an external float attached to the pump itself, so I'm guessing unless they made a completely separate float system connected via wire, I think I have the manual internal float one. I'll get down there this afternoon with a mirror...

    Automatic Bilge Pump continously running

After closing the boat up last night, I heard a motor still running... it was my aft bilge pump... there was the normal inch or so of water in the bilge, but that's it... the only way to stop the pump was to pull the fuse... the manual switch from the helm still works... I tried filling the...

How long is too long in the water w/o bottom paint

I left our pair of jet skis in the water for 5 days over the July 4th weekend a few years ago... Horrible mistake!!! The hulls were covered in a green slime... It took hours to clean just the little bit of hull on a jet ski, wouldn't want to even think about doing that on a Grady after a month...

Where to get replacement bow pulpit?

Over on THT, there is a company out of NY that goes by "not_just_a_pretty_face"... they make them out of Starboard reinforced with metal below... MUCH cheaper than the $1200 quote... $125 to $295... No idea how well they work, but they seem to do a fair amount of business... I've thought...

    Horizon 500 Windlass

I've got the 3 strand that was spliced just over a year ago... does the same thing and is starting to get worse as the windlass is starting to gradually eat away at the splice as it tries to retrieve it... If I lower and then raise the anchor a couple times, it will eventually continue winding...

    Quick Flush Port Adapater?

Is it blocked off on the 2 stroke OX66's as well??? It sure would be nice to route those hoses to a much more convenient location to flush the engines... preferably inside the cockpit... possibly eve flush both at the same time??? I hate the balancing act getting to the hoses... no big deal...

    Jabsco Electric Head Repair

I had a similar issue with mine... the grinder blades would get jammed up with TP... even though only a couple sheets were used by the ladies... After I took it apart the second time I had enough... Replaced the toilet with a real electric system and not what appeared to be a conversion...

    Fishfinder next to GPS

Since they are Garmins, both transducers will use the same frequency and you will definitely get interference... Most all units use 200 and/or 50 frequencies... I switched a few years ago from a combo unit to using separate GPS and Fishfinders... I would never go back to a single system...

    Winterizing Question '99 Sailfish

I cut and installed a bronze "T" in all of my saltwater lines near the pickups before the pumps. To winterize, I shut off the pickup, unscrew the cap and screw in the hose from my winterizer tank (had one from my I/O on a previous boat) that's filled with the pink stuff. Just run the pump...

    furuno electronics

If your existing system was left on in storage, the transducer is likely fried and should be replaced. Not an expert, but based on what I read while staying at a Holiday Inn Express last night, they are not supposed to be run in air for any length of time or it can damage the crystals. I've...

    Just Registered for Great Grady

Stuck macerator as well... could watch the lights dim slightly when I pushed the button, but nothing would move... I knew I was getting decent power to the motor... ended up removing the macerator from the holding tank... (note: pump out, fill with water and repeat! prior to the repair...)...

    Fish Hatch for Sailfish 272 - 1997

I have been confused about the design of the fishbox since I got my Grady last year... Smaller fish get lost towards the front, blocks of ice slide side to side while trolling, it takes lots of cubed ice just to cover the bottom... Most of my fishing has been inshore for Striped Bass up to...
