    Armrest Deterioration

The seats on my Marlin are from Pompannette... I called them with a slider problem and they were able to send me a replacement unit... Assuming yours are also from them, give them a call and they should be able to hook you up with new arm rests to install... Let me know how much they charge...

    woody wax

Woody Wax is definitely the way to go on the non-skid areas... It doesn't have the greatest of shine for the side areas but is effective and easy... Don't use it on the hull... it isn't made for it and won't last as stated above.. For the hull I've used 3m cleaner wax and more recently...

Are G.W.'s pre wired for windlass?

Good question and good answers! Thanks! :goodjob I've had problems with my GPS restarting while raising my anchor... I'll be pulling some new dedicated wires from the batteries up to the breaker at the helm soon!

    Wake boarding

Has the family members ever gotten up on a wakeboard before (on someone elses boat)??? It's completely different then coming up on skis... Until you get it right, it's frustrating and you will pull your arms out of their sockets! But once you do it, it's a piece of cake and much easier then...

    anchor chain

I just replaced my setup a couple weeks ago on my Marlin thanks to a snagged anchor... I consulted West Marine and several other sources before buying. It was suggested to go with a minimum of one foot per foot of boat length. I went with 50' and a 22 lb Delta plow anchor. The manager at...

    freshwater tank leaking

Had a similar problem a couple weeks ago with my Marlin... I was docked at a slip for the weekend and turned on the water heater and left the boat for a couple hours... My guess is that as the tank heated up, the pressure caused the hose to slip from the tank's inlet??? Couldn't figure out...

    Survey cost, moisture readings, etc

SAMS is the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors... Go to their website and pick a couple local surveyors from their list to call and talk with prior to hiring one... I was pleased with the surveyor I hired for mine... being a few hundred miles from the boat I was buying, I felt very...

I FOUND THE "WATER IN FORWARD BILGE " PROBLEM !!

Unfortunately I have had the "pleasure" of taking apart my toilet recently. It is a jabsco with the electric pump conversion. The macerator got jambed up and wouldn't flush. There is a cone shaped rubber gasket (can't remember the name at the moment) that sits in line with the hose leading to...

    Center Rigger on Marlin 300

Hey Mega- I sent you a PM with my email... I don't know how to post pictures yet either... I got my outriggers double rigged over the weekend with fresh mono and hal-locks... so much nicer then before! Looking to set up the Lee center rigger now. The rear two holes in the base line...

    Name placement

If the boat is "documented" via the Coast Guard, typically 30' and larger, then there are laws for how and where to display the boat's documented name and port. This is done instead of or in addition to registering with your local state. I was thinking about going through this when I bought...

    Cleaning Vinyl

If all else fails, Tilex will definitely clean them... I tried a variety of "safer" products first (boat soap, vinyl cleaners, marine spray nine, etc) with no luck on mine... The Tilex worked like magic! After rinsing and drying, I used the 303 protectant so I wouldn't have to do it again...
