    Adding a TV to a Marlin 30

This is an image from Boat Trader of an 03 Marlin. Galley on Port, You can wire it up any way you want, it's your boat but there are no AC outlets on the starboard side of the cabin. It would be easier to run a DC circuit wired to a small inverter. That way, the kids could watch a DVD when you...

    Adding a TV to a Marlin 30

Not sure if 03 is same as 08 but my OEM TV and DVD player are mounted on the starboard cabin wall just forward of the head partition. The DVD player is fixed and the TV is on a swing arm bracket. They fit into a factory made (plastic/fiberglass???) form, molded for a clean look. They are AC...

    AC or DC power

Details!!!!!!! Depending on the year, your genny may be gas or diesel. You can run all your AC off of it or from shore power but not necessarily everything at the same time. You will need to learn load management. For instance, if you are running the air conditioner and the water heater...

Anyone sleep overnight on a Marlin 30

My wife and I weekend on our Marlin all summer long. The two of us, no problem. We have stayed as long as a week. The V-berth is our choice. I'm 6'5", 240# and my wife is 5'6". I get the longer, starboard side and she, the port. We also share it with a 20# furry bed hog and still are...

Bow Mounted Life raft on Marlin

Here's one thing that would cause me to pause drilling anything in that area. I don't know what's inside Freddy's Sailfish but I'm assuming you have the molded cabin roof liner like my '08. As you probably know, they are prone to cracking. Some on this forum have had good luck getting them...

Bow Mounted Life raft on Marlin

A member here, freddy063, has (had?) a life raft mounted at the bow of his Sailfish. It may or may not be what you're looking to do with your rig. Search his images, there are a couple of them.

Trailer guide poles or side bunks

They aren't cheap are they? But they will make a difference. Much more "slippery". And change them before you lose one an take a chunk of fiberglass with it. The rubber ones will eventually fail. I'm surprised they lasted for you this long. I'm sure Mike is a pro, so no disparaging here, but...

1997 Marlin 30 balsa core moisture

Happy boating wife, happy boating life! Who are we to argue? I say make her HAPPY!!! :dance The Marlin is a great boat. We love ours and it was a mutual decision to buy it over the 33 Express. The 30 Express didn't fit our needs. But for you, your wife and grandkids, it would seem to me that a...

I think they also sub out their work. I've had some gel coat work done on previous boats there and have been very pleased with his work. Another option. I think someone may have posted this video before but WOW! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XK2I-JITEhs They are located in Halifax MA. I...

    Marlin300 Battery Wiring

The previous owner of my Marlin added 2 house batteries and mounted them behind the generator. I was told that because there was concern of the potential load on the system and he fished overnight offshore a lot, he felt it necessary to beef it up. It took me a while to understand the set up but...

2005 express with leaking fuel tanks

You started a post in August about fuel smell and never followed up with a reply. Based on this post, I guess you found the issue. It would be nice to let us know the details as those of us with similar vintage boats will know to keep an eye (or nose) out for the same... Also, 1600 bucks...

    Engines up or down ?

Agree with all of the above but, as you are on a boat lift, I would exercise the engine lift/tilt periodically since it would always be down when stored and mostly down, except to trim, when in the water. Things that go unused tend to not work when wanted. Just my 2 cents...

    key for overboard discharge

If they aren't all keyed alike, I bet there are limited variations. That's why I suggested trying another Marlin owners key. The description states it includes control panel and control module. Still very pricey though...
