Well said Jim! Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like I better use soap more often than not. Better stock up on lots of towls and beers, my crew is going to be buisy with all of that surface area.
As for the pitting, Nothing Else Matters; do you wipe down and dry your tower etc? I think...
for those who keep their boat in saltwater, what type of basic clean up do you do when putting your rig away for the night after use? Reason I ask is I just moved my rig from a brackish slip to a all salt slip. Does fresh water wash down and rinse suffice? Or do you break out the soap and...
Thats exactly how it is. Its a small area, but I guess thats where im looking next. Power shouldnt be the issue, its getting juice because the s.b. side is working fine and the juice is coming from the same location.
Thank you for the tips. Electrical is definately not my cup of tea
Matt
It does have a breaker panel, but in the GW owners manual it refers to the fuses for the lights as being on the control panel. So if those tabs above the switches arent fuses, are they resets? Pardon my ignorance, I just assumed from the owners manual that there are fuses for the switch board in...
great story, but man, sometimes the writing is on the wall. Its funny how when luck is bad, it is all around bad. But you gotta give it to them, they still got fish and got back safely. Where theres a will theres a way, and they were sure determined
My port side navigation light is not working. I've played with the unit, cleaned the contacts, replaced the bulb and I still cant get it to work. Next step is the fuse. I pulled the cap above the switch but how and the heck do you get that fuse out? Looks like I need a magnet. Anybody?
Ive spent as much as $500 in one trip for fuel/oil. When I do the math, I always estimate on the high side. Even though I can optimize my mileage I still burn around 1.25-1.5 gallons per mile. just plan on burning a gallon for every mile you operate and you wont have any negative suprises. I...
Ditto! Starting my 2nd season on my 01. Yea its thirsty, but its also fast, powerful, and reliable. Plus your freinds will be lining up to give you cash for gas. If the price is right go for it. You'll never burn in gas what you would pay for a newer boat anyway.
Good luck and post up pics if...
The verdict is in. I'm going to try and service the radar and buy a standalone Raymarine C120 Plotter. (For now). If it cost me more than $500 to fix the radar I will just get the dome package. At least for now, in 5 minutes, I will prob. change my mind.
Thx for the replies
Matt
Looks like the only way to go unless you want to permanetly affix it to the hull. I'm going to use a system exactly like you are refering to. The swivel head should allow you to put it in any of the pole holders
Anyone have an pics of their custom electronics configuration on their Marlin? I'm waiting to take delivery on a new Raymarine C120W. When I get it, its going to be custom installed (flushmount) on the dash/storage box on my helm. I'm a little worried about the alteration to the existing...
I get quezzy thinking about anything that goes thru the hull, but in order to get the job done right, I am told that I need a thru Hull transducer. (My Furuno FCV 585 isnt displaying temp or speed and I lose bottom often). Anyone ever have any leaky issues or other issues associated with thru...
I currently have an older Furuno (2001 era), large open array radar unit. The unit does not seem to be working properly. I'm new to radars and I am not sure if its user error or unit error.
I need a new chartploltter.
Raymarine has a package deal for a C90 chartplotter with a dome radar...
lets hope we get a real season! Thats just what I dreamed of when I bought my Grady last march!
Now I just have to find a summer slip, maybe Berkeley. :) I can smell the fresh salmon in my smoker already
