    Hardtop Mounted Outriggers

Hardtop Mounted Outriggers Decision Time I know I am bringing this back up but have some new questions. Have the boat in a nice canvas shelter where I can work on it this winter. Best decision that I made. Little propane heater and can work on her all winter. Now for the fun. I have a...

    Trailering 282 Sailfish

I tow my 282 with a 2005 F350 Powerstroke SRW and have no issue. Do several hundred miles a year. For a short trip like that I think you can squeeze by with a lighter rig. I would not go much further without a bigger rig. Mine is rated for 12500 conventional.

    Trailer set up

We will probably need some more details to help you with your situation. I can give you my experience from mine while not exactly the same models I am sure but we are close. I bought a triple axle venture 10625 bunk I think exact model is VATB10625. I have a 2006 Sailfish 282. We had to...

    Hardtop Mounted Outriggers

I looked for the spacers recently and did not find anything. Hopefully someone here can tell us where to get them for other mountings on the hardtop, like the radar you mentioned. One guy recommended pvc pipe or pex pipe for the spacers. Not sure what folks think about that but the pex is...

    Trailer Tie Down Question

Like I said I was over :hmm the issue. I like the towel/sweat shirt idea in a few key spots will probably do the trick. Also under the cleat does make a lot more sense for locking it in. I had to hook the ratchet strap to the beams on the trailer because they cannot fit in the small holes...

    Trailer Tie Down Question

I just bought a used '06 Sailfish 282 and have a new Venture Aluminum Bunk trailer for it. We refit the boat to the trailer yesterday and now it fits perfectly with a few minor adjustments. The guys at Bass River Marina and their lift were a huge help. Everything went fine until I went to tie...

2007 GW 208 with crack on inside of transom?

All I have to say is Feet don't fail me now. This boat has been rode hard and put away wet. The broker and seller are trying to unload it on a poor unsuspecting soul. Don't be that soul.

    282 Sailfish

NC Bill I just bought a 2006 282 with twin F225 and have to say it is a great boat. The ride so far has been great and I love the engines. They are quiet and no smoke. I agree with the helm seat pass through with captain chairs. I may want to switch to the L shape layout you saw. Not sure...

    trailer for 265 express

I have my 282 on a Venture Alum Bunk trailer trip axle 10625# and it hauls the boat great. I do use an F350 with diesel and it is a breeze. Trip home with her recently was 100 plus miles from the Cape and no issue. Had to move it once so far with the Expedition not too much fun. Luckily it...

    Nightime Colliison w/28" Metal Buoy

I agree haul as quickly as possibly and get it to dry. Last thing you want is a moisture issue. Looking at the damage I would say you got lucky.

    Surveyor Selection

Get a survey absolutely from a third party. Your dealer may be the person for you that is up to you. We have a dealer that we have used on our boats for many years and I am sure he would have done it for me but he does not do surveys everyday and stakes his reputation on it. A surveyor will...

    Surveyor Selection

Based on your user id I will take a stab that you are in New Hampshire. I just used Bob Gallagher http://www.gallaghermarinesurveyors.com/ He was great and I highly recommend him and never buy a boat without a survey.

Helm chairs on the 282 Sailfish

What does the companion seat look like? I just got my a Sailfish and was thinking of maybe changing the port side seat. i would like for 2 small children to be able to sit there. I think the arm rest chairs are nice if you are only ever 2 people but who ever only has 2 people. For me it will...

Survey Issue Today Suggestions Needed on Hard Top Rotting

Grady White steps up and the final outcome They are building a new top and will ship it up here for free 6-10 weeks depending on boats shipments. No problem with me because I planned to replace it over the winter anyway. The really good news here is that GW NO longer uses balsa in the tops...

Survey Issue Today Suggestions Needed on Hard Top Rotting

Re: Survey Issue Today Suggestions Needed on Hard Top Rottin The dealer thinks that Grady White no longer uses balsa in the hardtop for a core. His is checking what they are using now for me. Doesn't matter really but thought is maybe of interest to all. It will take about 6 weeks to get the...

    new boat advise

If I was buying a boat knowing that I am going that far I would want twin engines? You may want to reconsider your model and power choice. Having the extra security is very nice.
