Breach: I was just at Snug Harbor a few days ago. I drove by after lunch at the Matunuck Oyster Bar. I'll stop by and check out your new ride next time.

Express 360 vs 330 - would love the input

Doc: Tough question. You would have to crunch the numbers on the "trade up" options for a definitive answer if that is possible given the variables you will have to address in your assumptions. The big variable you are forced to deal with is the current "recession" in the boating industry...

Express 360 vs 330 - would love the input

Excellent question. There is no one answer on two versus three F350s for a GW 360. The answer depends a lot on personal preference, intended useage, boating scenarios and cost. Please note that all the GW brochures and sales literature show the 360 with two F350s which is a strong hint right...

Express 360 vs 330 - would love the input

Doc: Your comment is correct. There is not a lot of complexity difference. What you will discover is the difference in size and comfort the 360 offers with the large family you have in tow. I repeat, bigger is better in your case so if you make the jump the 360 is the way to go. Again, sea...

Express 360 vs 330 - would love the input

Doc: Both are a lot of boat. The 330 with "all the fixin's" will not be that dissimilar in complexity to the 360 IMHO. Three Yamahas may be the norm for a 360 which may be the biggest complexity differentiator. You didn't mention your last boat which would be helpful in proffering advice on...

S.C. trailer trouble in VA DMV

I also purchased a GW with a trailer from S.C. Your seller is correct that S.C. doesn't title trailers. A valid bill of sale (possibly notarized) was sufficient for me to get the trailer registered in CT. Be sure to get the trailer VIN on the bill of sale as well. If your seller has his...

    Profits on new Gradys

Guys: Purchase prices are indeed out of sight. When gas reaches $5 p/g the squeeze will really be on! I expect the oil companies to exploit the mid-east turmoil to up gas prices as much as they can. The boating industry may be in for some hard times not unlike 35 years ago when the geniuses...

    Trim/Tilt rusting

Same issue here as well. I sand the rust off each spring and paint it with primer and Yamaha silver paint. Then I put on a water barrier coating. Still comes back but less so with the annual maintenance routine. The whole motor has to be removed to get at the trim/tilt motor for replacement.

    Bracket Spray Shield

Never heard of a bracket spray shield. Where is it installed and why does the bracket need a spray shield? Sorry for my ignorance but this is new to me.

    US Virgin Islands

We have been to the BVIs several times and loved every minute. On each trip we chartered a sailboat from one of the major companies and got to see most of the islands. The charter companies offer captained vessels which would be the way we would go now because it gives you more time to see the...

    Pursuit vs Grady

eppem: The answer to your question is when the admiral and the whole family started to go boating with the captain. The admiral and family require creature comforts and that is what the manufacturers gave them and in return the manufacturers expanded sales. The compromise is acceptable from my...

    Pursuit vs Grady

There is no one answer. Pursuit makes a good production boat and the fit and finish on the models you mentioned are very nice, indeed, which some buyers prefer. In the above 30 foot Express category Pursuit seems to have the edge in fit and finish but, as you mentioned, the Grady layout seems...

KM: Am looking to buy a 275 with an F350. The torpedo tip and water pick up stay in the water. Many barnacles are in our harbor and foul the water pick up openings. I thought you might have a solution.

KM: Have you done any modifications to the GW 275 so that the water pick ups on the torpedo come out of the water?

Why are Grady Whites darker than other boats?

The ivory color is easier to maintain and keep up. Also the ivory color is easier to match for repairs. Also, the glare from sun on the deck of a pure white boat will pull your eyes right out its sockets after a few hours in the glaring summer sun. Even with sunglasses the sun glare is hard...

HELLO GW LOVERS - a possible new owner has a question.

Since your intended use is cruising, you should definitely sea trial the 208 as well as a 228G. Both are manageable on a trailer. The 232 Gulfstream is also a good option but this is a beefy hull and would be difficult to trailer but I recommend that you sea trial it as well just for a...
