    Grady Overnighter trailer question

Johnny: Most trailers start to deteriorate after the 4th year. The wheel bearings are classic points of failure. Make sure any used trailer you consider has been maintained properly or you will have additional expenses.

    Electronics Shut Down

Seasick may have the answer. Re check you battery cable connections for a tight grip on the battery posts. I had the same problem and tightened the cable connection to the battery posts and presto change-o problem solved and never came back.

    New to Forum- considering GW

Alfa: A qualified surveyor or fiberglass repair person can check the stringers by popping the pie plates out of the deck panels and removing the live well (if this boat has one) from the transom. Also make sure your surveyor has a moisture meter and goes over the entire hull (including the...

    New to Forum- considering GW

Alfa: Price seems a little high given this is a 12 year old boat. On a twelve year old boat of any manufacturer, expect to encounter expense for replacing systems: wiring, horn, hydraulic seals for the plungers, O2 sensor, fuel sensors, deck panels, console displays . . . the list goes on and...

    A Grady-White lemon?

We have been somewhat observant of the Grady products and have not come across the Contender disaster you read about on THT. We have been following that thread as well. FYI, one of the deck panels in our 12 year old Grady White was soft. Grady White replaced both panels on warranty. On a 12...

    Freedom 255 DC

Tashmoo: Well put. Wait and see is the best approach. Let's hope the new 300 hp works out. I am still waiting for Pursuit to post actual pics of its new DC and the engine options. Happy Memorial Day to all!

    Freedom 255 DC

I agree that the new Yamaha 300 would be perfect for the 255. The Freedom 255 would probably perform better with the lighter 300 compared to the 350, i.e. really fly and use less gas. Since the 255 uses the same hull as the Journey 258 and Advance 257 the performance stats would probably be...

    Freedom 255 DC

Grady White has just posted actual pictures of the new Freedom 255 DC on its web site. Nice looking vessel.

1997 Sailfish with twin Yamaha 225's

Regarding the starboard engine, check the trim motor. If the trim motor housing is heavily rusted, it may be time for a new trim motor. Check with a certified Yamaha mechanic on the replacement process. The whole motor has to be lifted off, I believe, to access the bolts holding on the trim...

    what do you recomend....?

Grady 306: We live in a hostile weather environment here in New England. Use the best bottom paint you can afford. Journeyman and Seasick have recommended two good options. This in one area not to cut corners. I use Interlux and have been very happy.

    Busted Lower Unit F250

From one 225 owner to another I am so sorry to read about the mishap. I know it hurts to see your Yamaha damaged from such a random accident. It was very windy today in RI with quite a chop on the water. Did the weather have anything to do with the accident? Now to your question. I have...

    Yamaha 150 2 stroke - starting/idling rough

The O2 sensor on a Fuel Injected OX66 225 is on the starboard side of the engine near the rear. There are electrical wires leading from it to the rear of the engine and up along side the starboard side. You can see what the O2 looks like by Googling Yamaha Outboards and selecting the parts and...

    Yamaha 150 2 stroke - starting/idling rough

Had an issue with my two stroke hiccuping at idle. It was the O2 sensor which was replaced and all now runs fine. The mechanic also adjusted the timing. Have a certified Yamaha mechanic check the O2 Sensor.

    New Ride!? Grady 265Express

Boat: For a six year old boat you are on the cusp of when parts start to wear out - this goes for any boat manufacturer. The electronics are prime suspects. Make sure your surveyor checks out the wiring thoroughly as well as the components - GPS, VHF, Radar, steering, horn, etc. etc. The tilt...
