    Tournament 225 Boat length help

Bama: The bracket with engine is every bit of three feet, more like three and a half. The engine tilted in the up position stretches out the length even more.

Grady CAPSIZES Saturday 12/30 in the Chesapeake

Viper The sea cocks for the thru hulls are located in the transom of the 225 Tournament. If you can't see the handles contact Grady White in Greenville (or your dealership) and they will guide you to them. Its good to open and close them on a frequent basis so that they do become stiff or...

    New 23 Fisherman?

Definitely needs the Gil Bracket option to open up more cockpit space.

    Tournamant 225

All true. Definitely have the engine surveyed anyway. A qualified Yamaha mechanic should also do a systems field test - will cost some dollars but well worth it.

GW service, warranty and support - continues to excel

Add my support for Grady White as well. Grady White corporate in Greenville (David Neese) supported a big repair on my Tournament which was out of warranty. The local dealer in CT was very supportive and did a quality job. No muss, no fuss. All this even during the Great Recession. Thumbs...

    FISHERMAN 23

There are five different Tournament models - all different lengths and displacement. I suspect that it IS their Gulfstream hull with a new deck mold to accommodate a CC design. If so, it will be a big seller.

    FISHERMAN 23

Grady White refuses to stand still even in this bogged down recession economy. They get my vote of confidence.

    225 Tournament with 200 SW

I'm sure there is one but I don't know of it. The most effective way to make an assessment is to take the engine to a certified master Yamaha mechanic and have a "systems test" performed. The Yamaha mechanics have equipment for diagnostics that can uncover most anything major and minor. I...

    225 Tournament with 200 SW

Fuel tanks should be inspected as well.

    225 Tournament with 200 SW

I have a 1998 Tournament 225 with a Yamaha OX66 225 Fuel injection. Both boat and engine are very solid workhorses and with standard maintenance will provide many years of service. For a boat/motor of this age there are some standard issues that crop up for a Grady as well as any other boat...

    Repowering a 1991 Tournament 225

You would have to do a price comparison between your 225 and and, lets say, a rebuilt 1998 OX66 Fuel injected Yamaha. The numbers will probably favor rebuilding your own 225 since you have already replaced the lower unit. As a guess a re-built OX66 fuel injected 225 is about $4K ($6K fully...

    Repowering a 1991 Tournament 225

I would rebuild your 225 since you already replaced the lower unit. If you do a change out, a rebuilt 225 OX66 fuel injection will be a real long lasting workhorse.

    Gulfstream Power

welder77 Many GW dealers as well as at the boat shows have featured the 232 Gulf stream with the F350. In the water the F350 looks like a good fit for the Gulfstream. As Escape points out a new Gulfstream with an F350 may seem expensive. The power and longevity/useability of a newer...

    F225 Stalling While Backing

Ask your qualified Yamaha master mechanic to conduct a sea trial systems test. My guess is that the O2 sensor may need cleaning or replacement and the idle control will need adjustment. The systems test addresses a lot of other items as well.

    Tournament 225 Questions

Pauleye: The head is a tight fit. Don't even bother. You won't make it especially if at sea when the boat is rocking and rolling. The 275 or 307 Tournament are the only two Tournaments that can fit a full grown person comfortably. Bilge is not accessed easily. Perhaps through the transom...

New 2000 Gulfstream owner with questions

Have a certified Yamaha mechanic do a systems check of the engine. The 02 sensor is usually in need of cleaning or replacement.

Leave boat in water all winter - NJ?

Merlin: Winter weather really beats up on boats left in the water especially for a small 22 footer. I don't think you will be happy with the results.

    Winter Storage Tips

Vet: Open all hatches, doors and circular inspection ports to let air circulate in the hull. Storing the cushions in a dry place is good advice as well as cleaning and treating them with a protective coating.

Question about the Tournament 275 - First Post!

Gators: Wow, great price! IMHO you do not need a hard top for a 275. It looks terrific without a hard top. The Vista top with curtains are all you need and not even that most for the time. We currently have a Vista top on our Tournament and have used in only once since we bought the boat...
