    grady white fuel tanks....

Did you notice "Florida Marine Tanks" label on the tanks? If so, they should be able to provide the tanks' dimensions.

2 stroke to 4 stroke conversion.

See if you can give it away to a fuel dock that sells pre-mix if any exist any more. Research "fuel polishing" in your area. Short of pulling your tank, that's probably the best you're going to be able to do to clean the tank. Make sure you have a good external fuel filter rigged up before your...

    Yamaha NMEA 2000 Engine Info

Re: Garmin yamaha / nema Exactly that way on my 2005 F150's. Look for the white connector with the blue and white wires. Getting the data for GPH and fuel tankage made my day.

    Gas Guage Accuracy

How much you can trust your gauge depends upon what you expect it to do. If you expect it to give you precise readings, then you can place very little trust in it. If you expect it to give you a general idea of when it's time for a fill-up, then you can place a reasonable degree of trust in it...

adding radar dome to a 2007 sailfish

I guess there can be. The installation manual (like all others) says to avoid parallel runs with power and antenna lines. You'd need to talk to a professional installer or fellow Garmin user to see if it's a real world issue. You do the best you can on any install, but sometimes you have to bend...

adding radar dome to a 2007 sailfish

The only way to know is to experiment with the radar returns at different running angles at various speeds. I'd recommend beginning without a wedge and see how it goes. Your radar returns should be satisfactory at 5 knots. Using the same targets, at the same distances and angles of approach...

What is that drain plug for?

and keeps bilge water from entering the fuel compartment, which would be the more common problem if the plug were to be removed. The fuel compartment drain plug and the bilge drain plug should be removed at the same time as a matter of routine maintenance to drain the fuel compartment of any...

Adding a livewell to 1994 GW Seafarer

I believe the under gunwale pvc line is designed to be used as a rigging tube, but you might be able to use it for your purposes. The better option for keeping anything alive in a live well or a bait tank is to bring "new" water in continuously, and simply allow it to exit from an overflow line...

    smell of gas

That statement is not born out by my experience. Fuel will weep out at the bottom of the tank at a nearly imperceptible rate ... just enough to alert you by way of fumes. It's the beginning of the end. Your only hope is that it is a hose, and that's no piece of cake either. Tilting at...

    Bilge pumps in a Grady!

Here's a pic of the pvc line which drains the forward compartment, bypasses the fuel tank compartment and exits in the aft (transom well) bilge compartment. By whatever cleaning method you choose, high pressure water or a snake, you have two access points from which to choose. Also shown is the...

    Scuppers below water line

No ... it's simply means that the deck is below the waterline at that time and place. The scupper flap reduces, or eliminates, the rapid entry of water into the cockpit when operating your boat in reverse, but does not otherwise seal the scupper. If it did, water would not drain out.

Is Grady White ever going to address the scupper issue?

That is nothing short of pure genius ... anyone rebuilding a transom or cockpit deck for "other" reasons would be well advised to incorporate that modification.

Is Grady White ever going to address the scupper issue?

This makes a great point. While boat shopping in 1986, I was aware of the scupper issue, but prioritized the comfort and safety factor of having a relatively "deep" cockpit. I was comparing Gradys, most notably to Shamrocks as I recall, and the difference was substantial. I jumped in and out...

    268 Islander Transducer

Re: Looks like the B744V or VL No, but that's not the point. Your boat has nothing to do with the transducer's connector. It's all about what brand of FF the transducer was plugged into. If your transducer looks like the picture you posted, and it has a paddlewheel, then it's a B744V or...

    268 Islander Transducer

There should be a label on the transducer cable within a foot or so of the connector. If you've got a Raymarine E66020 part number, it's an Airmar B744V tri-ducer. Raymarine has been using a 7-pin configuration for quite some time, and if it matches up with your new unit, you're good to go.

trophy pro / sailfish transducer mounting location

Yes, but I'm guessing probably not too many with a tilted element. My B744V is installed dead center on the keel in the aft bilge compartment of my 255, but you must have something that would interfere with that location if you purchased a tilted element transducer. Am I missing something?
