    ox66 trouble shooting

A clean O2 sensor does not mean anything. You need a test harness ($25) and a DMM to check it to make sure it is operating properly.

Repairing leaky windows on GW Sailfish

Interesting. My starboard cabin window was broken by a previous owner and replaced with fixed glass as you cannot replace sliding window to still be sliding, which is causing a ventilation problem in cabin. Seems I need an entirely new window frame, glass and all.

    Is Grady Quality still There?

I am happy with my 2000. It did take me some time to find the right one. They are boats and many times victims of their owners neglect and/or abuse, just like all other boats. I have a good one. And not many companies could I email about a 14 year old product and get a return phone call with...

    My New-To-Me 272

Congrat's! I remember seeing that one on the market when I was shopping. Bought mine last Winter, so I have a full season under my belt. I wasn't sure how much I would like the walkaround style coming from a bigger express type boat but I am liking this boat a lot. Enjoy!

    Factory spec. Canvas and Upholstery

I called every vendor on the list last winter for my 2000. Every single one said too old, no patterns, no go, so I went local and custom.

What props do you run Sailfish w/200's?

Hey all I bought a sailfish that is overpitched. I need a couple/few hundred more rpm's. Looking to see what you guys are running with 200 2 stroker's. The 225's run a higher pitch, looking for what is on 200's only. Your choice of brand and model would be helpful. Thanks!

    265 vs 282

I do not trailer my 272, which after 1998 is the same hull as the 282. My friend does not sleep on the 282 as far as I know, they are retired but put many thousands of hours on engines. He repowered his 272 a couple times and then went with the 282 because his 272 was pre-1998 and wanted to...

    265 vs 282

I looked at both when shopping. They are night and day in every way. It was an easy decision. I know someone who trailers his from fla to ny and back for snowbird commutes. He uses a dually diesel pickup.

    Repower or Rebuild??

I would go with a factory fresh powerhead if new motors were not in the budget. Would not let someone rebuild it, as too often 'repaired' is what you get, junk. Having had repaired, rebuilt and also repowered in the past.....nothing beats the feeling of hanging brand new motors on the transom. :D

    Soft top & canvas for 'Vintage' 84 252 Sailfish - No A&J..

Re: Soft top & canvas for 'Vintage' 84 252 Sailfish - No A&J Good luck locating a place from the Grady site to make you canvas from patterns. I tried every single one for my model year 2000. None of them do it. Call a local place to have it custom made. This way it will be exactly the way you...

HELP Me choose the right Grady!!!!

Magor, many of us buy used boats because we cannot afford new boats. If you can afford the new boat, that is generally a good way to go. The problem in your case is it is your first powerboat. Often, within a year or 2, what you thought you wanted/needed may change and you may want to move onto...

    2000 Marlin 300 re-power

98, having repowered a boat in the past, I can see your reasoning for repowering. Nothing like hanging brand new power on a boat. It is awesome. This time around, last winter I also bought a model 2000 but have no intention of repowering the grady anytime soon. If they are in great shape and...

    Sliding side window replacement?

I noticed my sailfish cabin has been too hot and no ventilation. It matters that the starboard side window does not open for a cross breeze. I thought originally that it was not supposed to be able to open, having only looked closely at it from inside. But outside there is silicone all around...

Canister Life Raft mounted on Hardtop

My 6 man raft weighs between 70 and 75 pounds. Add the canister and it does not seem like an unreasonable amount of weight to add. I think maybe Grady does not want to be blamed for hardtop coring rot if you do not properly seal any holes you make in it. Can't blame them. Or maybe slamming in...

    Adding rod holders to 272?

Dennis did you cut the holes at an angle? Doesn't seem to be much room for anything else. These rod holders (and gunnels) are a little smaller than on my last boat. What brand/type hole saw did you use? I have some old home depot junk in the garage, will likely look to buy something better for...

For a lot of overnighting and a lot of time spent on the boat, a Marlin in the ticket.

    Realistic 272 Sailfish Review

Firemedic, I suppose a realistic review can only come from an owner. I bought my 272 late last fall and went over it top to bottom, fore to aft. It got everything it needed to be turn key in every sense of the word. It is a 2000, which has the updated greenwood coring, extended running surface...

    Adding rod holders to 272?

Anyone add rod holders to these boats? Maybe one aft of the starboard side aft cleat or on the transom or between the 2 already on each side? Looking at options for drift fishing. I lose one on the port side to the bait cutting table and the aft holder on the starboard side is useless if lines...

Help! Mounting radar on hardtop - Sailfish

Use a low, angled pedestal or wedge as a minimum. Boats run bow proud, so a level dome will increase your blind spot forward. You want to be able to see in front of you. Radar's purpose is collision avoidance. Anything that increases your blind spot, increases your chances of hitting...
