    Marlin V-Berth Insert

The table top provides all of the support for the insert. The edges of the table rest on a lip around the berth so the insert itself it just foam covered by vinyl. A local canvas shop should be able to make one pretty easily - they will just need a pattern which should be easy enough for you to...

Single outboard on a Grady White Sailfish 255 ?

I had a pair of SWS 200hp and thought the match was perfect. I have read that some folks who had the 150s were satisfied but have no first hand experience to comment. Keep in mind - Not all 150 are created equal. What goal are you trying to attain? Is this about cost, weight...

Single outboard on a Grady White Sailfish 255 ?

I would think a 250 would be a pig, in performance and in handling. The 300 might be too much torque in one location. I would suggest contacting Grady customer service for their advice.

What color bottom paint would you recommend

I think any color, as long as it is black, will look good on a Grady.

Still glad you "Got the Grady?"

Happy? Glad I got the Grady? - yes I am, thank you. We are completing our fifth season with this particular boat and still quite happy with our choice.

    Deluxe helm II seats

I replaced my helm seat with the Deluxe II when it was introduced - it was gift from the Admiral. I originally saw it a NY boat show and would not get my fat a$$ off of it- Wifey caught on quick and ordered one from the dealer. I love the seat but not sure it's worth the $. I did snag one...

I assume you bought the boat - congrats! Post some pics. I added a cooler with cushion and tie downs -it was cheap functional alternative to a permanent mount.

    What's a fair price?

I believe the Chesapeake was introduced in model year 2009 which would have debuted in July of 2008. Saltwater Sportsman had a review in its October 2008 issue.

    Grady White Vinyl

I had the coaming bolsters re done this year on my 02 Marlin. Because of the curves in the bolsters and the welting whihc makes the transition from the pleated to plain material, being able to sew well is almost a requirement. For that reason I went through a professional. ( I have since begun...

I'd be interested - 2002 Marlin with many 'unique' touches and upgrades. The boat is coming out of the water in a couple of weeks.

True differnce between the seaV2 hull and pre 1992 hulls

Pre sea vee2 As a former '91 Dolphin owner - yes there is, both in perception (think resale) and reality. The 91 should cost less than a 92 because of those facts. Having said that, if its priced right, no major hull/motor issues and the layout suited my needs I would buy another.

Twin Engine Handling (or lack thereof)

Spinning a Marlin I think you have to make a plan each time you dock based on the current conditions you face. Then you need to make a plan B. I try to dock without turning the wheel but sometimes that is just not possible because once the Marlin is broadside to the wind you will need quite...

    91 Dolphin fuel capacity

Dolphin BobP's summary is right on in terms of the 'fit' of the Dolphin in the Grady line. 240 gallons was the capacity from the factory with outboards - the Sailfish of the same vintage had 202 gallon capacity. The cabin on the Dolphin was very similar to the Gulfstream, less plush and...

    windless for 205 overnighter

An anchor ball, or inflatable, is particularly good when you are running solo and need some helping "hauling the rigging", but is not typically a sailor's first choice. Keeping a ready spare has its price, as it doubles the maintenance costs. Units will require more attention as they age...

2nd Annual Grady White Owner's Shootout!

Any transient dockage in the area? I'd like to fish this but running around the Island and then back again same day will be a bit much.
