If you have your livewell running (seacock open and pump running) your livewell will fill up. If you shut the pump off and ride around with the seacock OPEN and pump shut OFF the well will still fill up with water! One time when I wasn't using it I put my lunch in it but had left the seacock...

If you got a good pair of 250 HDPIs the boat can handle them. If I was to repower my '00 265, I would consider adding ONE HUNDRED MORE HORSES too! I'd also look into 250 ETECs but that would involve all new controls/gauges etc.

The drain is on the hot water heater tank. Make sure that is closed and then fill the whole system.

The only problem is that they would be competing against THEMSELVES! And why on earth would they have a business that exposes potential past production flaws etc?

There are better things to spend your money on than a 31 yr. old boat no matter how cheap. Save more and buy something newer/better! If you're not wanting to 'restore" this boat, chances are it won't be "reliable and ready to get wet" You are talking about taking your FAMILY on this vessel?

Good luck guys with those 225s! The Grady White DCs aren't as fast as other DCs in their size ranges with same HP, but the GWs are so much beefier! Check out the dry weights of GW DCs vs other brand DCs! The layout kicks a** vs other brand DCs as well -but you know that! I have a 2000...

I like the 275! Good luck with it! Is the 275 the same hull as the discontinued Islander?

I've got 17m SS props on my t-200 OX-66SWIIs. You could prop yourself to go only slightly faster but you'd lose something under a full load. I don't really know how to explain it well but my '00 265 will go 40mph WOT whether I'm running light or fully loaded, 3-4 guys, ice, bait 200 gals of gas!

Re: 305 I love the 305! It's my 265 on steroids! The center helm gives great visability.

I'm glad he's gone. He clearly was NOT a Grady-White enthusiast. Like others have said if you miss or need Jimmy you can probably get advice (and abuse! :roll: ) from him at his web site or by e-mail!

The transom door is closed by those snap latches only! Don't drive your 265 thinking that transom door will stop a wave breaking over the stern.

I have a 2000 265. Tapping the tabs is the way to go. In a head sea tab down and give it gas! Make sure load and crew are balanced and sitting. After I ran mine a few times I was able to find that sweet spot for best cruising speed in conditions I'd be out in. You're going to like this boat.

I have a '00 265 I bought used in '03. It's a great boat! I agree it's the best 26' cabin boat out there! NO mine's NOT for sale!

I have a 2000 265 with t-200 Oxs. I bought the boat used in Nov '03. I agree that it's the best 26' outboard cabin boat easily if not the best overall 26' cabin boat. Even with OXs I cruise faster and use less fuel doing so than any inboard 26' gas boat. Yeah you've got to love that...
