Just tried it and it worked GREAT ! I had a new eraser and after doing 2 1/2 arms it had disintegrated because you really have to scrub (so count on using 2 erasers). Going to add 303 protectorant now. Someone said it has been caused by sweat/ suntan lotion, but who knows. Thanks again for...

It's not mold. I have the same thing on my 2010 and I read somewhere that it's a defect in the covering that Grady used over a period of time,and it just looks "dirty". The fix is supposedly a new type of "skin" that you can buy (not from Grady)and cover over it. I haven't bothered to do it so...

I spoke to Grady. As someone else mentioned, you pop it out. They told me that there are 4 little slots where you can get a small screwdriver under the lens and pop it out (no screws, at least on this model). I haven't actually done it yet. Thanks for all the replies.

I have a 228 Seafarer but assume the setup is the same on other models with hardtops. Mounted under my electronics box is a fixture that's marked Courtesy Light/ Spreader Lights and has a bulb inside that I need to change. I cant figure out how to get in there. Appears there is no access from...

My new boat had the motor mounted too low and I had to raise it 2 holes to get the anti vent plate up to where it was not buried under water. I was also told that when they rig a new boat they err on the side of safety rather than performance (read as avoiding lawsuits) as far as engine height.

All good ideas have been given but don't discount the possibility of a defective tank (welds where fill, vent hoses are attached etc). Open the hatches, air out the cabin and bilge and then let your nose be your guide. Get as close as possible to the tank and, where you can't reach, use a length...

I did the same a year or so ago. They replaced the filters but it still isn't performing well IMO. I'd be interested to hear your results after you reinstall.

Exactly my thoughts. Those low gunnels may lend themselves to Fla flats fishing and some lakes but doubt they will be very popular up north. However, maybe they felt that they have the NE market covered pretty well and were actually looking at the bay boat market as something new.

Dennis..you're not mistaken about the GPH on your engine; I assume its about the same as mine (22gph at wot). The point , I think , is that you have a greater margin of safety with the 60 gph filter than you do with the 30 gph filter. Consider at some point you get some dirt or water in your gas...

As doc says, most bigger outboards (like yours) use a 60gph filter. There's obviously a reason for that (margin of safety ?) so Im wondering why you would consider a 30gph filter. There aren't any "pro's" to that as far as I can see. I believe my f-250 burns 22gph at wot so, a 30gph filter with...
