I need all 330 Express experts please!

Just info for your database: We have a 2005 330 Express that has the twin F250's and diesel Fisher Panda generator, all factory installed. Love the boat, moved up from a 272 Sailfish. Would consider the boat close to underpowered (we fish/dive her hard, so always loaded with heavy...

    Grady 360 A/C

just a FYI - we overnighted on our 330 Express a couple of weekends ago - we have had a very cold winter (for west central Florida) and the water temp in the bay was 52 degrees, with overnight air temps in the mid 50's. We ran the heater all night set on 72 degrees and it quickly warmed the...

    Grady White Factory Tour

My wife and I really enjoyed the tour. Bert walked us through the entire construction process in detail, answered numerous questions and followed up on a couple he didn't have answers for with an email response. Got to see the inside guts of the 330 Express which was one of my main objectives...

    Boat Cover Color

Sorry it took so long to get pics - been out of town traveling. Pics are not the best - Elm tree is in full seed pod/bloom right now so it is hanging low, plus I have boat way up high on lift since its been blowing like stink here the last few days. Cover cost in the neighborhood of $3,000. I...

    Boat Cover Color

I have a custom sumbrella cover on my 330 Express that is lift kept - the color is the dark blue, very similiar to the color of the Grady eisenglass material. This is my 3rd dark colored sumbrella cover (3 different boats) and other than the lovely bird crap markings, have had zero issues with...

    Grady White Factory Tour

Thanks for the link to your previous post. Guess I should have done a search on this topic. We are definitely looking forward to the tour - we long ago "drank the GW coolaid" and can't imagine not having a Grady in the fleet (have to admit that I am a Scout fan also - our Scout 162 SF is the...

    Grady White Factory Tour

Thanks guys for all the comments. We did call and booked a time/date for the tour and also asked if there was anyway to specifically see the production of a 330 Express (would love to see all the little hidden details and be able to ask dumb questions). She didn't say anything about production...

    Grady White Factory Tour

My wife and I will be up in eastern NC later this month and plan to stop and do the tour at the Grady White facility. For those that have done this, any hints on what specifics we should ask to do or see? Anything that isn't normally included unless you know to ask? Thanks, Jim

3 Blade vs. 4 Blade test results

Scott, I am curious as to the difference in hole shot and any difference noted in cavitation while running in a large following sea. I have been contemplating making the switch from 3 blade to 4 blade props in order to improve these two issues. Thanks for your input. Jim

33 Express owners: rolling rear canvas

George, Same issue - I roll mine so that the inside edge is flush with the middle section so that the "too long" end sticks out to the sides of the boat. Not the best look but functions. Had the same issue with my 272 Sailfish. Jim

    330 Express - F250's - Prop Selection

Tony, Ditto on wanting to hear how you make out with the 4 blade props. The load may well have been a contributing issue - I had 4 people on board, all their dive gear (8 tanks), clothes and food for 2 weeks in the Bahamas, plus full fuel and water. So we were definitely tipping the scales...

    330 Express - F250's - Prop Selection

Motors are mounted such that the cav plates are level with the bottom of the hull - so don't think that is an issue. Setup is how she was originally delivered new by Grady (I am 2nd owner). Been awhile since I have had her at WOT - so can't really answer the top RPM question accurately...

    330 Express - F250's - Prop Selection

I would like to see what props everyone has on their 330 Express's. I have a 2005 330 Express with F250 Yamaha's with 15.5" X 17" SWSII props. On our recent trip to the Bahamas, we got in some pretty good seas, specifically in about 4' quatering/following seas. In these conditions, the motors...

    Considering a 232 gulfstream or a 282 sailfish

Getting an oversize permit in Florida is easy - basically send them the $25 or so and you are good to go. The bigger issue that concerned me when I was towing my 272 Sailfish was, God forbid, we got in an accident. Then, even if not our fault, if we were towing "illegally" by not having a...

    scuba tank holders

The plastic tank holders are what fold down - they slide into the aluminum rail, which I mounted to the gunnel under the bolsters using aluminum stock so that there are no visible holes down the road is I ever take the aluminum tracks off the boat.

    scuba tank holders

Yes - have used these in several boats now - I use the folding tank holders so that they can be folded down out of the way when not in use - these works great and hold the tanks in place - make sure you adjust them to fit the tanks you have (7.25" dia or 8" dia)

    33 Grady White

Another "opinion" - not bashing anyone elses' opinion. I have F250's on my 330 Express. Can not imagine having any less power. I had F250's on my 272 Sailfish before this and considered that the perfect power for that boat. Where my Sailfish easily jumped up on plane, my Express requires a...

    Scuba tank racks for 222

forgot to add - saw the tanks racks that use the suction cups on Ebay a while back - I like the idea, but there is no way to use them along the sides of the boat (on the Grady anyway), which is where I prefer to store the tanks so that the are out of the traffic pattern.

    Scuba tank racks for 222

pwsscuba, send me a pm with your email address and I will email you pics of the racks as I had them on my 272 Sailfish - the setup on my 330 Express is identical - I just haven't had a chance to get out and take the cover off the boat to get some current pics. here is a link to a website...

    Scuba tank racks for 222

Do a search for "Roll Control Scuba" - setup uses an aluminum rail that mounts to the gunnel and then folding scuba holders slide into the rail. Used this on my previous 272 Sailfish and now on my 330 Express. I mount the aluminum tracks to the gunnel using homemade aluminum brackets - mount...
