    Spreader Lights

Heard lots of good things about these. http://www.coastalnightlights.com/style ... aders.html I plan on getting some for my Sailfish later this summer.

    Battery charger recommendation

Installed my MasterVolt 20A battery charger today. Other than the usual effort of becoming a contortionist it went fairly easy. Turned it on and it went through it's internal checks and then went right to charging the batteries. After a few minutes I started to turn on some DC items and it...

Mine has the hot water heater option and the skegs are still in the water.

    Battery charger recommendation

I ended up getting a Mastervolt PowerCharger 20A unit. Seemed to be very simple and I found lots of good reviews on it. I plan on installing it this week. I'll try to post after it is installed to report on how it works.

Help with mid 90's sailfish freshwater system

From looking at mine ('98 272) it appears as though the only way to access that area is to slide the refrigerator out. I looked at mine for a while and that was the only way I could see to do it. I did not try to remove the faucet, but if you are able to do that from the top that would...

    Battery charger recommendation

Thanks for the replies. I am looking for a battery charger that can keep the batteries topped off while the boat is in it's slip (shore power) and a few things are running. Specifically the refrigerator, some lights and occasionally the live well. The A/C will obviously be run off shore...

    Battery charger recommendation

The original Daytek battery charger in my 1998 272 seems to have given up the ghost. Still gets power but puts out nothing at the batteries. Fuse looks good and I will replace it to make sure, although I don't have much hope for it. Looking for recommendations for a replacement. I will be...

    Fresh Water Washdown Replacement

I replaced mine with an original part from GW. However, given the price I paid for it I would not do that again. While the new cover fits perfectly the rubber (particularly the thin tab where it connects) is pretty thin and I can see it breaking again, especially with my grandkids using it...

    Sealing cabin door on Sailfish

Not sure about the specs on it, I believe it was original equipment from the factory. It cools off pretty fast and pumps a lot more water than I would have expected. If I can remember correctly I had it set at 70 during some really hot weather and it seemed to cool down to that temp in about...

    Sealing cabin door on Sailfish

We obtained the same boat last summer, and I have to say I have seen no need to block the vents on our cabin door. In fact, most of the time I leave the door open when running the AC and it cools down and stays cool in the cabin just fine. I guess if I were to seal up the door it might be a...

When will you splash your boat?

I've got some projects to get to, like removing the hard bottom paint (and I'm not having much luck with it) and doing the maintenance on the motors, buffing the hull sides and deck. I am still hoping to get into the water the first week in April, but we will have to see...

Fridge survey - do you use it...?

We also have a new to us Sailfish that we picked up late last summer. Last year we kept it at a marina that did not have shore power, so other than running it just to make sure it worked we didn't use it. This year we will be keeping it at a different marina that is closer to us and has shore...

    macerator pump

If it's like mine, I suspect that your macerator pump is seized. I tried the tap method to break mine loose to no avail. I have seen some others that modify the system to install an inline pump, but I really don't want to do that, and the cost to replace the submerged pump is over 500 dollars...

How do you dock your Sailfish..?

Gary M nailed it. I had a few problems figuring out my 272 until I realized that I had to STOP the boat before pivoting it. Any forward motion when I come into my slip just pushes me off where I want to be/go. As long as I stop all forward motion the boat does pretty much what I want it to...

help !! high idle 03 ox 66 fuel injection yamaha

The reason I asked is I once pulled a cowl off my OX66 225 to check things out and when I put it back on it disconnected a green wire at the rear of the motor. Motor started up just fine but would not idle down. After looking for the problem and re-connecting the wire (plug connection)...
