yes the motors were produced in 1999. my 200 hpdi,s original to my 2001 265 express have a sticker on them stating they were produced in 11/99 also.

thanks bill, your right. i had that problem when i 1st got the boat 6 years ago. ( i was used to having to use alot of tabs from my previous boat & havent had that issue since i got used to handling this boat). regardless, thats one of the "quirks" with this boat, ( in my opinion )

the quirkiness they are speaking of is true. if the boat is trimmed down cutting into the water, the hull can "grab" into the water and veer sideways. ( actually can be scary, feels like your going to flip) . like previously said, basically the trim tabs are mostly for leveling this boat off...

besides the change in deadrise as mentioned in previous replies, there were no other major changes. again,when comparing a 2000 vs 2004 boat , maintenace is going to play the most significant factor. for $30,000.00 , sell your old motors & re-power.

....one very minor tip if u sleep on your boat alot like i do. i took a hollow core swim "noodle" ( dollar store ). cut a piece the lengh on the rod holders above your head where you sleep, sliced it open down the middle with a razor knife and simply fit one over each rod holder. works...

i removed my fridge and turned that space into a locker...when at the dock or not offshore i keep my valise in there. need to get a ditch bag together

hello, you need to use yamaha yamalube 2cycle oil . i purchase a 55 gal drum, around $1000.00 +/- the savings is significant if you do the math. it takes up about as much room as a garbage can in your garage, & the convenience is awesome ( i always used to scramble to find some yamalube...

correct, use the GE 100% silicone in almond, it matches so well its probably what grady uses. theres no difference between window/door silicone and kitchen /bath silicone...same stuff
