2002 Grady 282 Sailfish Dash panel replacement

I'm going with the carbon fiber vinyl overlay. It's cheap enough so that if don't like it I can try something else. I'll post pictures once I get it done. I'm having a hell of time finding new switch covers though. No one seems to have the ones that Grady used originally (black with 2 white...

Looking for material to replace your dash panels?

Mboyatt I'm redoing the dash on my 2002 282 Sailfish. I got some quotes to redo both panels in carbon fiber and the lowest came in at $180 just for the panels (no switches). That's more than I want to pay for a couple of panels at this point. On my last boat I redid the panel with a 3M Dinoc...

2002 Grady 282 Sailfish Dash panel replacement

That's great yours still looks like new fishbust, but mine has faded to the point where you can hardly see the silkscreen line and working on the panels. There's also corrosion under the overlay so it's bubbling up in places. It just looks crappy. This is a new boat for me last year and as I go...

2002 Grady 282 Sailfish Dash panel replacement

Thank you for the replies. I'll have new wire quote the panels. Just an FYI for anyone taking theirs off. A number of the screws holding down my panels were so corroded I couldn't budge them. I ended up using an impact screwdriver to get them. Some screw heads broke off, but that's ok. Once...

2002 Grady 282 Sailfish shore power inlet

I got the unit out by twisting it sideways an upwards. There's a lip on the receptacle housing that has to clear the hole. The only way to get it to clear is to rotate the unit clockwise and tilt it down.

2002 Grady 282 Sailfish Dash panel replacement

Hi, Both dash panels on my 282 Sailfish are looking pretty shabby. I'm looking for ideas and suggestions on how/what to replace them with. I did one on my old boat, a 2000 Sportcraft. I took the old panel off, got a sheet of 3M carbon fiber sticker sheet and pasted it over the old one, then...

2002 Grady 282 Sailfish shore power inlet

Hi, I'm trying to remove the shore power inlet on my 282 sailfish (stb side rear) and I can't seem to get the unit to pull out of the cut out hole. I've got the 4 mounting screws out of the cover and the assembly pulls out about 3/4" but there's something preventing it from coming completely...

    282 Sailfish Trailer Recommendations

Hi, I purchased a 2002 282 Sailfish this summer and I am looking to buy a trailer to store it on for the winter. I'm looking for recommendations as to what trailer other people suggest or have to pull this boat. Thank you.

2002 282 Sailfish Livewell pump replacement

Found the problem. Some dumbass used 5200 to seal the threaded joint last time the unit was changed. Grrrrr.

2002 282 Sailfish Yellowing of topside and hull

This is yellow, not Grady tan. There are sections of the boat that are not faded (under the enclosure) and this is defintely not that color. I'm going to try some fine grit sand paper to see if it's just on the surface.

2002 282 Sailfish Yellowing of topside and hull

Hi, I've got a (new to me) 2002 282 SF that has 2 areas of yellowing that I'm curious about. The first area is around the starboard side stern cleat. The whole area around this cleat is a yellowish color almost like someone did some fiberglass work and it didn't match right (There doesn't...

2002 282 Sailfish Livewell pump replacement

Hi, I am the proud new owner of a 2002 282 SF that needs a few things, including a livewell pump (pump has power, pump not spinning). The pump is the 1100gpm Aerator pump with the white body and red top and single outlet to the livewell. My question is how the heck do you get that pump off the...
