What battery do you have for your four stroke?

alongside the stbd battery on the shelf in the transom under the fish box. It just fit (read "it was a real PIA getting it in there and set up ) with the group 29 boxes end to end. I wanted to put it on the port side (since the helm is on the stbd) but the hoses and valve for the livewell and...

What battery do you have for your four stroke?

Interstate batteries and battery saving advice I just replaced the 2 no name starting batteries that my 252 Sailfish came with with 3 Interstate Group29 Deepcycles. I run 175 Zuke 4s's and Zuke recommends 675 CCA AND 180 reserve minutes. The Interetate 29 D was the only battery I found that...

replacing front windows - glass or polycarb? project update

update SO I brought it to the local glas shop and for the extra $90 ( I wish it was only $10) I decided it was worth the expertise of having the job done professionally so it wouldn't leak. Well, I went to pick them up today and they looked like crap. There were gaps at every corner as if the...

    New Truck

18mpg with a Tundra? Grady 175. Please tell me how. I just got a 2009 Tundra 4x4 5.7 4door and I am getting around 12-13 mpg driving like it doesn't have a gas pedal. I bought it for the 10,300 towing capacity figuring I'll make up for the gas consuption by towing my boat closer to the...

I need some pics ( stern livewell )

89 Sailfish 252g Livewell is btwn the helm seats, the pump which is for the livewell and washdown, is beneath it with access in the cabin by taking out or thru the midship wall alongside the port 1/4 berth. There is a 2 way valve on the port side near the stern to switch from LW to WD. I use...

replacing front windows - glass or polycarb? project update

Good point. I was really just thinking about the feet dangling when folks are sitting on the cabin top in front of the windshield. But, I'll admit, as bloody as I enjoy getting the boat, I'm a "finaddict" about scrubbing it all clean (not just the glass) at days end; so, glass it will have...

replacing front windows - glass or polycarb? project update

That's the answer I wanted Mine appear to be poly. They are scratched and have stress cracks. I'm a clean glass freak so I want to go with glass. I'm going to try and find lightly tinted safety glass of the same thickness as the current material so it fits properly.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCES WITH SAILFISH, DOLPHIN, ETC

252 Sailfish guy here The "G' is the O/B bracket model. Moves the O'B's outside of the boat therefore you get a bit more cockpit room and a fully closed transom with a fishbox that runs 23/4 of the beam and a baitbox that fills the other 1/4. I prefer the full transom especially in a...

    Salt Water Washdown/Livewell pumps

I'm changing mine out now and they appear to be original, 1989! But the pump is located in a very dry area alongside the midship livewell. I t burned out last summer when I left it on washdown and turned off the hose nozzle.

replacing front windows - glass or polycarb? project update

Thanks 1st, couple questions When you say "remove the black rubber strips on the outside of the frame, then remove all the screws" do you mean the black rubber strips on the inside of the frame on the outside of the boat? Did you replace the rubber? Mine is and '89 and the rubber seems...

    removing headliner on 89 sailfish

Bob, you make a good point about the potential "echoing" of the (lapping) sound. I was only considering the insulating value of theheadliner and not the sound absorbtion factor. After a long day /nite/day of fishing incredible as it seems the odor doesn't keep us up. The truck...

    removing headliner on 89 sailfish

I considered the noise issue but... I realize I will be losing some sound dampening; but, when we sleep aboard the hatch, windows and entryway are almost always open anyways. The loudest of the " noise" is the lapping of water against the hull (and sometimes Dad's snoring when we are sharing a...

    removing headliner on 89 sailfish

replacing front windows - glass or polycarb? project update

The 2 front windows on my 89 252G are scratched and crazed with stress cracks that will not buff out. The seals are also leaking. How do I go about removing the "glass" and replacing it? There is alot of silicone around the outer frame outside and around the widow pane itself on the inside...

Need A Favor from the Load-Rite Guys

Jake, I think you're better jacking the boat off the trailer and blocking the boat with stands rather than leaving the boat on the rollers for an extended period of time which creates teh possibility of putting roller dents in the hull.
