272 They were a perfect fit. I just snugged them in and siliconed along edges. You can make an L bracket attach one side to the lexan wedge and silicon in the brackets. You cant get in the area to screw them in.

Sailfish 272 I had the same problem with a cat taking up residence in my cabin when I had my 272. I called GW CS and told them of the openings from under the gunnels and they sent be 2 lexan boards made to fit. Just had to mount them in front of the openings.

Marlin I have 1997 Marlkin with the 225 Yamaha four strokes and I have 17's on mine. Runs great, no issues at all. Great out of the hole and cruise 23K at 3,900 burning 15/ hr.

Oil I change the engine oil every 50 hours, so i do it in the water through the dip stick. When I pull the boat at the end of the season I use the drain plug and do the lower unit oil. I don't pull the boat mid season for the oil, too costly.

Oil drain I use the Tempo fluid extractor. It works great and made for the dip stick. It will hold all the oil and will drain in about 15 minutes. I have been using since 2002 with my four bangers and it is the best out there. It cost about $59.00 or so and will last a long time. Dont waste...

Fuel primers If you have re-powered or will soon with newer fuel injected motors you will no longer need them. I re-powered my 97 Marlin with four strokes in 02 and the primers are still working but I don't use them. The motors pull the fuel. I have never once used them since the re-power.

Trickle charge I had a 96 sailfish with the charger and 3 batteries and always charged with them connected. I now have a marlin with 4 batteries and do the same all winter. I keep the batteries in the boat and every now and then turn on the charger and let them charge. Never ever had a battery...

Anyone have problems with the storage box on your Marlin that is located under the sick in the cockpit? My boat is a 97, probably not an issue on newer boats. I have replaced the box twice now and it continues to rot out. Has anyone replaced theirs and if so what did use? Thanks

Insurance I just asked BoatUS for a quote and they were over $900. I have a 97 Marlin with 02 4 strokes valued at $68,000 with $500,000 liabibilty and $500 towing. My current company is Middlesex Mutal out of CT and I am paying $792.

Cushions I use the foam egg crates they sell for beds. I put one aft and one on the V and put the sheets over the top. It helps some but the aft is still a little on the hard side. I am not sure what you are referring to, but if you find it works please let me know. Thanks

Fiberglass Hello, I have a 1997 Marlin that I use the 3M cleaner wax with a wheel. I put one good coat on the hull before the spring launch and my hull still looks as good as new. Except for a few scratches on the starborad aft side from several sharks and a missed gaff shot or two.

Kicker Hello, I had a Yamaha 9.9 HO on a 24 Offshore years back. That motor just pushed the 24 Offshore. I doubt it would be enough to push the 272. I have a Marlin now with 4 strokes and one motor troll is perfect. No fuel burn and a very slow troll at 600 - 700 rpm.
