    Towing Sailfish 272 with a D-max

My truck has the LLY series engine[late 04].Also my boat isn`t as large as most here,so sometimes I forget to use the tow/haul mode.I have noticed if I don`t use it the transmission shifts into OD at about 5mph sooner. The real key to better mileage is keeping the rpm`s at 2000 or lower.I also...

I have a 228 and did mine last summer. At the stern of my boat I have 2 access hatches and between them there is a livewell.I had to remove the livewell to get to the pumps bilge/livewell.In my case it`s a tight spot but can be done. When doing mine I also replaced the the links that attach the...

    Fuel Management system - suggestions?

That was one of the first extra`s I installed on my boat.I went with a Floscan 5500 series and also added an hour meter. The main reason I did this is was to let me know exactly how mush fuel there was in the tank,I don`t trust float switches. The OX66 doesn`t have internal software to keep track...

    Trailering Alone: Bunks or Rollers?

I have had both and I kinda like the bunks. Now if my launching was mainly at shallow ramps then I think a roller trailer would be a better choice.

    Towing Sailfish 272 with a D-max

No doubt that you will get better over all milage with a diesel, but the added power is what most folks are lookin for when towing. If I keep the rpms around 2000 not towing on a road trip I get around 23mpg and the math is done with pencil and paper.I have never really checked it while towing...
