I use Ring Free and Startron in each fill up. No problems, no carbon buildup.

You might want to try formula 303 protectant as an alternative to Armorall. I use spray 9 then the 303. I also use Formula 303 on the Eisenglas.

Mounted mine thru the hard top with SS bolts and 5200 around the base. The base came with a ring for the under side. Works great. Got it at West Marine.
