    I did poke it and it’s solid. The Rear of the transom has no ripples or delimitation so I am crossing my fingers that it will hold out without any catastrophic failure In the immediate future I really love this boat and would not be afraid to rebuild transom down the road. Just not this year

    The removal required cutting the hole open about a 1/2 inch I used a angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. The hard part is replacing the fuel fill and vent lines. There are plenty of great threads on this here. It’s a weekend project start to finish if you have tank. I probably could do in a day...
