    Caulking the floor

Caulk Don't over use the caulk. If you ever have to pull the floor panel up again you don't want the crack solid caulk. Use just enough to create a seal.

    Replace cuddy carpet

I've owned a 90 20 footer and now own a 90 Sailfish. We removed the interior on both and replaced it with a good quality outdoor carpeting. Pull the bulkhead and plan on rewiring since you're there. Also rebed the windows with 3M 5200 as well as all screws, etc that come through. Cut the...

I'm looking for info about the Newport Rhode Island area.

Newport I've been to Newport a few times but never by boat or more than a day. There is public transportation to run you around so you're not stranded. The mansions are available for touring, LOTs of shops, plenty of eats. I know there are many people that vacation there so I'm sure there is...

What Alarm Sound Could This Be?

Most likely the low oil alarm in the tank on the motor. There is a procedure for pumping the oil from the lower tank to the upper tank.

Best Forward tilt angle for radar on '94 Sailfish?

Radar angle The radar beam is in the neighborhood of 25 degrees up and down and 5 degrees side to side. This varies by unit. Shimming the radome makes little sense because the boat rises and falls on waves and acceleration. The radar manufactures design this into the units. I once saw a...

    Throttle creep on twins annoying

Throttle Creep I adjusted the tensioners that are under the cover of the throttle handles after I installed new cables. It took a little trial and error but worked fine. Don't over tighten them the first time.

    Best Selling Grady White

Reason for dropping the sailfish I believe the reason for dropping the popular "Sailfish" name is because of the new boat manufacturer "Sailfish Boats". I guess Grady didn't trademark the name and they are (or were in this economy) growing. http://www.sailfishboats.com/

    Sailfish holding tank size

Poop Tank It is a 10 gallon tank. I added a second tank in the aft bilge that holds 13 gallons. When the front tank gets near full I pump it aft! This way I don't have to call for the pump-out boat everyday when anchored out,

Most likely the cables. But has the shift rod been lubricated? I've been through both but on a much older boat/motor. Replacing the cables made a big difference.

Gas Refund or Lack of One

Fuel cost I bought fuel at Burrs Marina in New London CT last week. Posted price was $4.69, less a dime for dock customers. I charged it on the Shell card and that gives me an additional 5% off. Now if I use more than the 200 gallons gas as "off road", I can file for the $0.25 back from...

    Anchor line strength

Anchoring In reality, you should have a 7:1 scope. So you should 700 feet of line. That is the normal textbook answer. It all depends on conditions. I suggest a good quality 1/2" line. You would be amazed at the strenght it has. CJBROWN wrote I have a piece of 4 inch dia plastic...
