@ 200HP I would say it would be underpowered. How are you measuring your speed and how accurate is your tach?

i Have a 24' Offshore w/ a 300+HP I/O. I would think a 23" Gulfsteam w/ a single 250HP is way underpowered........

From what I understand the windlass needs yearly maintainance, the gypsy needs to be removed/cleaned/greased........ I believe it's in the manual.

I have an '84 Offshore I repowered in my driveway for ~$3500 (300+HP). Granted the I/O's are a bit more maitainance but I like them......... It's a simple SBC and easy to work on. Probably burn <10gal/hr at 30MPH...........3600RPM Any thoughts?

Friend of mine replaced his garboard tube with 5200. He tells me the cure time is 1 WEEK! Is this true?

First off I have an I/O.......350 GM I have 2 sets of plugs, change them every other year. Clean the plugs when I take them out and keep 'em for next year. Been running the same 2 sets for years.

I have been painting the whole bottom of my boat each year with anti-fouling paint for years. I am hearing that it's only neccessary to "touch-up" where needed. Any/all opinions welcome......if I don't need to crawl under the trailer anymore I won't be upset.

Have neverworked with gelcoat before. My boat has a few areas I was going to repair w/ MarineTex.......and then cover with gelcoat. Not looking for a "perfect" job but something that looks pretty good........... Any inputs/hints would be great! Thanks.

Any opinions on an '87 Gulfstream? Has an OMC King Cobra I/O driven by a BBC.

I replaced mine last year........figured it was time. I removed it for inspection, found some pitting under the rubber straps and decided to replace it.

I saw that website...........pretty impressive. One of the things I'm not too sure about is not being able to stand at the helm and no station down below..............
