Blackdiamond296, you are correct, as I now remember when installing the unit on my old 208. Kinda like a bilge pump wiring, always need to have direct power from the battery. Otherwise, when you cut the power to the flowscan, it can't remember where it was on the last usage.

On my 208 I remember installing a toggle switch on the dash next to the meter.
