    Future Grady Center Consoles 20-22'

I agree. One of the reasons I bought my 222 is because it was one of the most family friendly CC's out there. The 222 has an enclosed head and can be outfitted with full bow cushions and transom seats to provide plenty of seating. I primarily use mine for fishing but when I need to go the...

    SW Florida Tarpon

The tarpon are still hanging around Charlotte Harbor in SW Florida. Picked up this 66 incher today on a live 15 " ladyfish. Revived and released him to fight another day!

    303 Protectant

I use 303 protectant on the seat cushions and it works great, but I don't use it on the gelcoat. I save the Rejex for the gelcoat.

290 page now on GW website

Given the value of the dollar versus the Euro, Grady could be VERY cost competitive in Europe. It makes sense for them to go after that market. Europeans are already snapping up real estate at a discount.

Sure is a beauty. When I took the plant tour they made a comment about the advantage of a 29 over a 30 when it comes to insuring the boat. Anyone know if insurance takes a big jump at 30 feet?

    Grady 222 Fisherman in action

Bama, she sure is a beauty, though I am a little biased! Go 222's! :D

    Caulking tips please.

I just use GE Almond kitchen/bath silicone and use a wet finger to smooth it out; works fine and looks great. Don't use too much caulk in the joint or it will be too difficult to remove when you need to. When you need to remove the hatch a razor blade easily cuts through the caulk and the...

    Florida Trip

Stayed in Hawk's Cay in Marathon a number of years ago and had a great time with the kids. Didn't have my boat with me but they have a lot of options for boaters. Kids swam with the dolphins which was a big hit. I'd think from Marathon you should still be able to get in a great day of fishing.

    New model

BobP, that was my concern too. Our tour guide Bert indicated it would take a pretty good shot to dent it. Although the ss rail looks sharp, seems like the existing rub rail is much more forgiving to stress. The stripe graphics are quite a change too. They start as Grady blue from the stern...

    New model

Took the Grady factory tour a couple of weeks ago with a few people and they had a couple of the new 2009 29's just about ready to go. The name is the Chesapeake. It's a real beauty-here is a photo of the one we saw. I highly recommend the tour if anyone gets to the NC area. [/img]

Hull and Deck Cleaner Advice / Simple Green

Starbrite deck cleaner with teflon and Barkeepers Friend for any stains. I use Woody wax on the deck after cleaning it and it makes it easier to clean next time. My only complaint with Woody wax is it doesn't last too long.

loving my new (to me) 222

Bama, is that a hard top on your 222? Mine is the blue sunbrella softtop and I haven't seen a hard top on a 222 before. I'm taking the Grady factory tour tomorrow-really looking forward to it.

    Boat Wax

Rejex is the way to go but first you need to remove any oxidation. Rejex is a protective polish so it will not remove oxidation or act as a cleaner. It is great stuff; I used it on the top of my gunwales and it has worked great. Fishing mess just washes right off. You do need to apply it out...

    222 fisherman issues

Usually just the deck scuppers, but nothing like you are describing. You can get water in through the engine well drains but it usually is only when you are in rough water, you get a boat wake, or running in reverse against chop. Water stays in the engine well and immediately drains out like it...

Why are Gradys so popular up Northeast vs South??

I agree Grady's are big in the NE, but there are probably more Grady's in SW Florida than you may think. Our 2 year old Tarpon Coast Grady White club already has 50 boats and it only includes the areas from Venice to Boca Grande and over to Punta Gorda. That doesn't include the heavily...

    222 fisherman issues

Jbukie, I have a 222 and as others have said, they do sit low in the water. If 2 people stand in the stern corner, I will see some water coming in. As soon as I move to the other side or more forward, it drains. When I first saw it, it concerned me but once I realized how the scuppers were...

    Cleaning the dark blue rubrail

I usually just scrub mine with boat wash and a soft brush. After its clean I put on a coat of 303 Aerospace Protectant. That brings back some of the luster and adds some protection.
