Voyager 248 - hatch glass separates from frame

So, finally got the new hatch in from Bomar, and .... it doesn't fit. Long story short, the part number is right, Bomar apparently changed the hatch dimensions over the years, but kept the part number the same. The reason I know the PN is right is because I pulled the old hatch, Bomar...

Voyager 248 - hatch glass separates from frame

After looking at it closely, I now believe the hatch on my boat is not the original one. The plexiglass seems very flimsy, the screws from the inside don't look right, and the carpet on the ceiling inside has markings of a slightly different frame. Not good at all. Want to fix correctly...

Voyager 248 - hatch glass separates from frame

I plan to call Grady to get the manufacturer / part number of this hatch, then call them directly. Do you think that 100% silicone has the strength to hold the weight of the hatch frame? The old adhesive / sealant is dark in color, not sure what that means, if anything. Is this a tricky...

Re: Voyager 248 - Anchor stuck on bow pulpit Hi all, Thanks for your replies. Well, I removed the anchor off the pulpit, and so glad I did, since the trailer winch post hardware was hitting the pulpit roller when launching / retrieving the boat. I took the trailer back to the shop and they...

    Anchor setup

Re: Voyager 248 - Anchor stuck on bow pulpit For now, I removed the anchor/chain/rope from the windlass, and will go manual with a small danforth (that came with the boat, may have been the original) until I figure things out. I'll probably upgrade the pulpit hardware (doesn't seem strong...

    Anchor setup

Hi all, First, a quick into. After many months of reading and research, I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought a 1996 Voyager 248 (first boat). The kids are already asking when we can put her in the water, but of course, I already have a list of things that need to be taken care of before...
