For some reason when I attach the lower unit ears to my hose I don't get any water coming out of the pee hole. But when the boat is in the waterit "pees" just fine. Is that because there is not a tight seal on the ears? Also is that hose arrangement directional or does the water pump suck water...

Sounds like I at least should pull the tank to check. That however will be a gigantic pain in the arse. There is a bulkhead blocking the tank. The tank is literally underneath the helm with no way out unless I cut that bulkhead out... Replace the tank and then reinstall the bulkhead and have it...

I think she needs to retire and you need a bigger boat. Indeed waves will happen no matter what but with that budget I wouldnt spend 2 cents on that old boat. You can very easily find a newer 22' with upwards of 150hp for that dough. Sell sell sell and don't look back.

I would not recommend down sizing your hp unless you were going to do twins. The right motor choice for your hull in my opinion is 225 hp. If you can't afford new than buy used. Nothing wrong with a good used motor. You hit the nail on the head with your boats age. It is a 1991. Go get yourself...

Max , is the oil pump a part that needs to be replaced after so many uses? Obviously a very important part as to keep the oil running (1) and (2) the proper ratio should be always maintained...
