I have a 208 with a hardtop and a 200hp yamaha. I think hardtop helps get weight forward and plane quickly. Highly recommend. I see no disadvantages.

@Richard Szeg I have heard of people attaching to starboard side too because of that swim platform. Ideally I want port but let me see what my shop says and cost.

Draft looks fine. Ran into other issues on the water which confirm the need for a kicker.

Update its a 200. In my excitement for my new grady I made a typo. 200hp. Will report back.

I will get back to you on that. I just acquired the boat and will be taking it out on Sunday. My recollection during sea trial is that scuppers were above water, how much above I do not recall. DB

Just acquired a 1993 208 Adventure with a 2006 Yamaha 225 (exhaust corrosion kit already done) and want to add kicker to starboard side. I have seen a small offshore bracket posted on the forums that may work. Anyone done this before with similar engine? DB
